fertility monitor

has anyone had trouble with their monitor not picking up their lh surge?

my nurse thinks that it sometimes "misses" it...

does anyone else have this issue?

also, i seem to sometimes miss positive OPKs when my temps suggest that i did ovulate as well...

could there be some strange reason that these tests aren't that helpful for me?

I can't help much b/c I have no troubles with my monitor (only 3 cycles so far), but if you don't get an answer here there is a whole thread over on the TTC page that is something like "CBEFM and June or July". You might want to post over there if you don't get your answer here. FYI Good luck!!!

thanks for the tip!

Yep, I've had my FM miss my surge (peak). I almost always begin surging in the afternoon, so when I use FMU for the FM, it of course doesn't see that surge yet. And my surge is usually gone by the following morning anyway.

This is why I dumped the FM and stick to OPK's.

and the OPKs work for you?

do you test in the afternoon?

my nurse says to use the OPKs in the morning too...

but i am ready to try anything new in order to avoid using shots....

and all the while getting low on my moitor, my cervix is high and soft (i am not sure about the open thing yet~just started checking it) and i am having a great month CM wise...

go figure..

i feel like just ditching the technology and listening to my body ...it seems like a wast of my money...

Some people say not to use OPK's with FMU as it can give you a false positive. I have found I can use FMU and not get a false result though.

The thing is, you should use OPK's 2x per day during your fertile period. I use one once around 1pm and then again around 7pm. You can easily miss your surge if you text only 1x per day.

Right now (we're avoiding), I just chart my CM and know when I O based on that. I will use OPK's in the future when TTC again though. I just buy cheapies from eBay or the Dollar Tree.

ETA: Are you doing IUI's or just DTD? If IUI's, I'd use OPK's.

i'm not sure what ETA means...

we are DTD...and i hope i can keep it that way...

this is crazy for someone who desperately wants it to be natural...

i finally got a peak...my cervix is high and soft with EWCM but it is thicker than my previous days EWCM ...and 3 days of a temperature rise...

what to believe?

which is more important, temp. monitor, or cervical signs...:???

Has your SO had a sperm analysis done? If so, what were the results? Good? If good, then you can DTD everyday with no issues.

My rule was, anytime I had EWCM = DTD! Being you have a peak, DTD!

well, his analysis was fine...
