Well, I chose other because if it were possible given the medical issues, I'd continue to provide breastmilk as long as possible in conjunction with nutrient-dense blenderized foods but with one condition: I'd do all I could to increase the nutrient availability of the foods I offered - I would probably be very selective about what I gave. I'd start with bone broths and if we were ok with grains, soak them, if we were ok with dairy, start with fermented like kefir or yogurt. Depending of course on the child's condition and needs.

I voted breastmilk and blenderized, but what I'd actually do is reread USAmma's website about Nitara and PM her if she would be willing to answer questions.

One problem with a liquid diet in older children is the risk of developing an oral aversion. So I'd want to do everything possible to maximize my child's ability to eat solid foods later on. Like using special spoons and stuff.

He can taste foods by mouth. He cant really eat. He has swallowing issues where when he swallows he doesnt actually swallow the food. It just sits in his throat.

He is thriving on breastmilk, but if he were to move to a blenderized diet he would not gain weight. He needs all of the calories, antibodies, etc that the breastmilk provides. He would get some of those nutrients from foods but not the amount of calories he needs.

Anyway, I was just curious what others would do. I plan on continuing the 100% breastmilk as nutrition and allowing him to nibble on what he can.

At the same time I don't know it'd be enough for a 3.5yo child, and if there was something else reasonably nutritious I could provide them I would do that as well.
that was my thinking too.
