Tupperware Tumblers

We recently bought some of the tumblers with the dripless straw hole for outside. They're made of a safer plastic. For whatever reason, we've had a rash of broken glasses lately. We went for over a year without breaking any, and the boys have broken a few within the last week. I'm partly tired of cleaning up the glass because that stuff shatters and goes EVERYWHERE! And I'm concerned because the little one is a crawler and on the floor most of the time. I'm considering buying more of these for using all the time rather than just outside, only leaving the lid off so we're not using straws all the time. I don't put them in the dishwasher and we only have cold drinks in them. Is this okay or is it bad?

It sounds like a reasonable option for right now, when you have a crawling baby in the house.
