Hi Mamas,
I have two DD's (almost 6 and 1.5). I find my days, of summer holidays, at home with both of them so full and totally exhausting. That being said, I feel really bad about them, I want so much to connect with my girls and to share what's important to them. Especially my 6 year old. I find I spend most of the day ensuring my toddler is safe, often implicating and becoming upset with my 6 year old. By the time the little one is napping, me and my eldest are so worn out, all our plans and ideas for crafts are lost to a movie, or her wanting to play with a friend outside. And I just want some good time with her.
In addition, this friend outside is 8 and she tends to want to play with my DD sometimes and not others, she is also always judging other kids for being nice/mean/weird, etc. I don't like the influence on my DD, but she lives basically in our backyeard (we live in an apt and we both face onto the courtyard..so we can't avoid her, as much as i'd like to). When they play together it is mostly fun, creative and peaceful, but I don't like what I hear about the evaluation of other kids, that sometimes this girl isn't so nice to my DD and I don't like that it takes away from my quiet time with her.
Would love your thoughts.
