Rebuttals are needed ...

Thread Starter
In response to these two videos on YouTube. I've only found one, thus far. She's disabled comments and imbedding. (I wasn't sure if this where I should post it, but it got my blood boiling, to say the least, and thought you all should take a peek.)

This is the link to the first one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78tK2...eature=related

And to her follow up - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXb7q81B67k

She makes herself sound like an idiot. No help required.

nak
Oh. My. I don't know what rebuttals would be helpful, she seems far beyond mind-changing.
1. she has bought into the idea that breast are sexual, they may be but not during nursing time.
2. of course jesus was bf. a poor carpenter and his young wife had no other choice.
3. a breast with milk coming out of it is not evil, it is nurturing. if i had a bible here, i'd like to see what paul was actually talking about in 1st thes., i doubt it was bf. probably the philestines.
4. GET A GRIP!
5. I believe Kellogg invented formula. he said it was not intended for daily use or to replace bf. this was at a time when mothers started leaving home to work in factories and could not be with their babies. it was meant to be used for emergency situations, not b/c bf is unnatural.
6. we are animals. remember, we're mammals?

wow... I mean, it's been a LONG time since I've heard anything that stupid come out of anyone's mouth. I'm totally dumbfounded, but pretty certain that her "argument" is so completely ridiculous and baseless that it doesn't require a rebuttal.
Ok, I can't get this out of my head! Since she started quoting the Bible, I would ask her why God would have made milk if He had actually intended for us to feed formula from a bottle. I mean, if those were his intentions, wouldn't he have made bottles and a formula company on the seventh day instead of resting? (sarcasm)

I've been reading this board for a while, but had a hard time believing everything. I've only encountered one ignorant comment. From fil, saying that it was my choice if I wanted to bf, but not the best one. I have other issues with him and don't really care what he thinks, so after saying that actually breast is best, let it go. I mean, ignorant people often don't want to be educated. (nak again) If they were on a quest for knowledge i'dbe happy to inform them of the truth, but it sounds like youtube lady and my fil are happy living with these crazy, backwards ideas of what is actually healthy and natural. i'm happy my twins are getting my milk and the rest of the world can bugger off.

Um, no, rebuttals aren't needed. I don't even think the word 'rebuttal' can apply to this situation.

So... apparently we WERE animals until bottles and formula were invented? Hmm. It's a wonder we made it this long.

100% agreed.

Surely it's a joke?

Wow. :
There was another one that she deleted, where basically she said that people who breastfeed their children are sexual abusers and her advice to anyone who is breastfeeding is to "put your baby on the bottle and repent your sin"

someone already did a rebuttal, it's somewhere on youtube. nak and too lazy to find the link but anyway - she's nutso and probably just wants the notriety, which is succeeding, I've seen this posted on so many bfing forums now!

You know, I was thinking about breastfeeding in biblical times the other day when I was at Mass. It occurred to me that Jesus probably wouldn't have batted an eye at the sight of a nursing mom -- I'm sure it was a perfectly common occurence. There wasn't any other way to feed your baby, so unless you were going to cloister yourself in your house all day (which I doubt most women would or could do, especially among the poorer classes), most undoubtedly fed their babies wherever they were.

this has to be a troll who does this to get a rise out of people. no one in their right mind thinks this way. not even my friends who choose to formula feed.
edit: i'm not trying to call her a derogitive name.

An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion

Another thread on this topic was pulled due to UA Violations, including namecalling and disrespectful posting. I'm going to leave this one up because it's actually seeking to take action, but all the namecalling etc need to go.

My favorite part of this video is the guy watching tv in the background (probably her son in law?) IMAGINE how often he has to hear her talk about this!!!

Also her comment, "We were created in
God's image and should not be doing as the animinals do"

Nope... we are certainly NOT animinals.

No rebuttal really seems necessary here, and flagging probably won't help. If all you-tube videos containing incorrect information were banned... there would be FAR fewer youtube videos.

The great thing is that most of the "related video" links are pro-breastfeeding.
Ummm, wow. I'm not allowed to say what I really think of her. But I am absolutely blown over by her opinions.
The whole time I laughed, I have tears streaming down my face.

"animinals" was the icing on the cake. I almost peed myself.

LOL its not natural, we're not animals? LOL God that is so funny.

My husband walked in when I was watching it, and then just slowly backed outof the room, with his hands over his ears.

Whether she is for real or not I have no idea, but it's just sad that someone could really be that misinformed, or be so attention starved that they would go so far as to discourage something beneficial to HELPLESS BABIES.
Thanks for the links. I needed a good laugh at someone else's expense today! PP are right, she did a pretty good job of making herself look like a fool. That's probably why so many people have watched it...b/c people making themselves look foolish (esp when they are serious) is what we call entertainment. (ie: American Idol, AFV, etc)
