Anyone not sick of "no-poo" questions????

Ok, So I am new to just about everything. My family doesn't take well to change, so I decided to work on the least-resistant to change..ME! I have a HUGE cosmetic addiction, every time a new shampoo comes out I buy it, hopeing it's "the one" (It never is). So yesterday was my first "no poo" day. And while I was worried, things didn't turn out too bad. I washed with B.S and poured on the ACV rinse. I let it sit for a few minutes and rinsed it off.

I did kinda smell like coleslaw though. And while I like the smell of ACV, I did get some weird looks standing in line at the Post office. Once it dried, the smell dissipated. Until it got wet in the rain... not as bad as the first time, but enough to have my 4 year old sniffing me at Walmart and asking "what kind of perfume is that?".

I guess my question is.. Is this normal? Am I maybe using too much ACV (1TBL/1C. Water)? I've also seen that some people don't rinse, but just spray on and leave the ACV in the hair.

I really miss my shampoo smell though.. any suggestions on how to add some scent without killing the "no poo" idea?

you could probably put a few drops of EO in your hair... I've never had the problem with smelling like ACV afterwards. I dilute 2 oz. of acv in 8 oz. of water and pour that over my head and rinse it out..

when i was doing the ACV rinse i would just add a few drops of EO in with the ACV and water.

but i also think you're not rinsing it out well enough. i never had it smell afterwards, especially not to the point where other people could smell it too.

I use white vinegar rather than ACV.

I also don't let the vinegar sit on my hair- I pour it over my hair then immediately rinse it off.

i use 2 tbsp (i have longggggg hair) of bs in a cup. i add 2 drops lavendar and 2 drops tea tree oil. then i put 2 cups warm water in it. i wash my hair then rinse. for the rinse i use 2 tbsp distilled white vinegar and 4 cups water. i rinse in then rinse right out. i never smell it even when it is wet.
