omg, my hair is falling out in clumps and although they tell you not to worry that you wont go bald i see it. it looks like a receding hair line! omg, what to do mamas? anyone else going through this?

Yep, lots of hair is coming out. It slows down and you're probably the only one who notices that it's different. It was like this with my dd too and I didn't go bald.

I wear LOT's of headbands during this phase. Last time I got bangs cut which I NEVER do b/c I have wavey/curly. It did make a difference in terms of a style and my not seeing the receding hair line. it sucks no matter what. I am taking vitamin b and also FISH OIL but it doesn't seem to help!

look at it this way: our hormones are normalizing and that cannot be bad!

i wish that were true but both my mom and sister have noticed it too 8(

btw Im probably going to be ttc again by the end of the yr if I do get pg will that stop the hair loss??

My hair was falling out by the handfuls. I had to buy a drain strainer. I got a cute haircut, I'll take a picture of it and show yall.

Same thing happened to me when I went off bcp. It's still coming out. It has something to do with the estrogen prolonging the follicle's growth cycle. I'm in the April '09 DDC (if it ever gets started!) and I'm waiting to see if this makes a difference for me. I have a feeling (since I'm almost 5 weeks and it doesn't seem to be slowing) that the hairs that are going to fall out will all fall out and the ones that are on a different growth cycle will be prolonged by the extra estrogen from this pregnancy. Then after the baby is born I can do it all over again! Horray

It does end. I think that it stopped after a few weeks. I just cut my hair because all of the hair that I lost PP grew back at the same time... so I had really long hair (I just cut 14 inches and I have a bob at chin length) and hair that was 6ish inches long. Let me tell you I looked GOOD . Now I have a great hair style that I LOVE. I wish I would have done it sooner!

I feel for you hon...it's one of the things I dread about giving birth, I hate cleaning the tub drain out! BLAH!

I have curly hair (when I let it go natural) and never brush my hair (to avoid frizzies). But now... if I don't brush my hair at least twice a day, Caedmon gets mouthfuls when he's being worn. So much for letting my hair grow. I'm gonna have to get a haircut soon:
