What Allergens Are In These Ingredients?

Dd is reacting to something and for the life of me I can't figure it out. At first I thought it was the new english muffins I started eating. However I talked to the manufacturer and they do not use corn of any kind on the muffins and instead dust them with rice flour. They do share the same lines with their whole grain muffins (I'm eating the spelt ones) and there is corn in them so there could be contamination BUT I've been eating their spelt bread for months now without issue and the bread shares a line with all their other breads which have corn. So I just don't feel it's the muffins.

Then I got to thinking that I had made these cookies a few days back. Everything the same as usual except I added chocolate chips. But the ingredient list SEEMS like they're ok for us, what do you think, am I missing something:

Evaporated cane juice, unsweetened chocolate, cocoa butter, soy lecithin, and ground vanilla beans.

We have no soy issues btw, so it's def not soy.

If it's not this then I just can't figure it out and I NEED to figure it out...her butt is close to breaking out into sores and it looks horribly painful

are you 100% positive it's not soy? allergies can develop at any time, even if the 1000 exposure prior were a-okay.

otherwise, it could be chocolate/cocoa itself.

or the worst case scenario: undeclared diary/corn/etc.

Anything else at all you've eaten that you can investigate?

I can't think of anything else I've had that is new. She's actually been healing in regards to allergies. I know of course that doesn't mean she hasn't developed something suddenly but I just don't feel like it is. Chocolate has been fine for us for a long while too. I guess I should have said in my OP that we were on a TED, got to a baseline, and have gone from there in adding things in.

Another thing I thought of is maybe she got something and ate it and I didn't notice. She's still crawling, not yet walking on her own, and of course she sometimes finds things on the ground.

Looking at the chocolate chips package again it says dairy and gluten free. Maybe there's hidden egg or something? I suppose most likely though it would be hidden corn.

We developed a soy allergy 10 mths after we found out about corn and dairy without any prior problems, so a new allergy might be one to consider.

Otherwise, I'd call the choco chip manufacturer and find out if they dust their lines or their bags with cornstarch or something like that.

Hmmm, yeah I'll have to give them a call tomorrow. If her reaction persists then I'll have to consider that perhaps she developed a new allergy but it could be anything. We both eat soy in things. I have soy milk on my cereal, I use soy milk to make pancakes for both her and I, etc. She eats lots of veggies and fruits and even some meats.

This stinks. Her birthday is Sunday and I was going to make her a birthday pie. I couldn't find a cake recipe I was comfy enough giving her but I know she's OK with my pie crust and I was going to fill it with some fresh peaches : I know she's only 1 and she doesn't know it's her birthday but I guess I still want something to be "normal" and I want her to be able to dig into something, kwim?

ooh, i didn't even consider the bags being dusted with cornstarch. that is insidious.

my little one just turned one in May. I can post an "everything"-free chocolate cake recipe, if you want.

I don't remember what all foods you are avoiding, but we had good luck with this carrot cake for my dd's birthday... http://healthy-family.org/caryn/442
