I'm finally feeling it

My body is SORE today. Giving birth caught up with me. Gah. Everything hurts. Not bad, just some, enough to make me uncomfortable.

I think I might take a few ibuprofen & head to bed with my sweet girl soon.
I'm going to see if I can see my chiro Friday instead of Monday. Or in addition to Monday!

How is everyone else healing up?

I had a really easy time healing- felt great almost immediately- but I am being sure to take it easy because I tend to bleed for a long time.

OTOH with DD I had an awful recovery period so this time being easier, was a nice surprise.

Take care mama!

I'm less than 24 hours into it. While the predictable stuff seems to be going well, I'm astonished at how sore my arms, legs, and belly are. But according to my husband, it was like I worked out for 15 hours straight, so I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise. I just wish I felt more stable on my feet.

Hang in there. Be good to yourself so you heal more quickly.

I felt great the actual day of the birth - guess that oxytocin really does give a kind of "high" - but the next day... oh, I felt as if all my insides had been through a blender! Sore and achy feelings lasted about 5 or 6 days for me. I am still trying to take it easy and rest a lot; I have noticed I start bleeding more when I overdo it.

phew. I am feeling much better today. It was crazy how good I felt for the first 3 days, I guess I was surprised how it hit me that many days later

I'm feeling fine today. The only thing I really find annoying is the weird ache in my lower back & hips. I think that may be from the epidural? I think I've read about something like that, I'm not sure though.

So, yeah. I'm feeling way better today

I've had that, but I chalked it up to the menstrual-type cramps I've been having since delivery. My uterus has been working overtime getting back to its original shape/size. :P I'm 9 days PP and, with the exception of my boobs, am back to the same size/shape I was before I got pregnant.

I'm also still bleeding. Is that normal? They told me it would peter out, turning pink and eventually clear... but 9 days on, it's still regular quantities of red-red blood. I feel fine, though. I mean, I wouldn't run a marathon, but it's not like I'm dizzy or lightheaded or anything.

Pretty achey here. When the motrin wore off, I told dh I felt like I'd been run over 3 or 4 times. Today I've managed to just take motrin once after an afternoon nap when everything felt like it'd melted into one big pain ball -- but I can tell that things are getting better.

Walking around still takes some work, all the steps feel very tentative and such. I'm relived that I have dh and dd here at home to help out as much as they do. Dh and I agree that letting me rest 100% as much and as long as possible means that I'll be better sooner, so it's nice having their support. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have it.

This is me, too. Well, maybe not that I exactly was feeling so crazy good, but that I did get slammed about 4 days postpartum. And I barely could move, this afternoon (5 days pp), and the cramping/afterpains have been SOOO intense. I ended up taking some Motrin, and that did take the "edge" off for me. But yeah, my reaction has been "Whoa."

Me too. This delivery pretty much kicked my ass. I don't remember being nearly this sore last time, all over sore. Oh, plus I tore since I had to push her out so fast with the prolapsed cord. So where the stitches are is really tender still and I can't stand to sit for very long.

Hence not much time on mdc. haha

Hugs and healing us all!

Oh yeah, whoever mentioned the afterpains..... SOOO much worse with more than one child.... I think they were the worst part of recovering for me!
