Help! Does anyone have a pattern for a shopping cart seat cover?

I'm wanting to make one and I don't have a ton of sewing experience so just winging it scares me! Do any of you have an easy pattern that you've used and liked? I want to do one with elastic that not only covers the front and back of the seat but the sides as well....my 8 month old is teething and decided he needed to teeth on the nasty cart at the store! Aack!
Thank you, thank you!

I can't help you, but I am hoping you get a few good responses. I read someones directions for a shopping cart seat cover on a yahoo group, and I tried following them, partly winging it, and my cover turned out just awful. A total flop! I am tempted just to buy one off of Ebay, they are so darn cute, but I would really like to make my own and save the money. Anyway, good luck.

Thanks! I ended up buying a pattern off of ebay for around $10 I think. I haven't actually made it yet, but the link that you gave looks like it doesn't cover the whole shopping cart seat. It would still work just fine though I suppose. Thanks so much!

I made my own, teaching myself to sew!

I used half of an old twin sized comforter. I cut it into the biggest oval shape I could get out of it (but now that I think about it, I think a rounded corner rectangle would've been better...duh!) I sewed elastic into a casing all around the whole thing. I took it to the grocery store and put it over the front of the cart. With a washable marker, I drew in where I needed to cut leg holes and the slots for the seatbelt. I went home and cut those spots out and zigzagged around them to keep from fraying. It was very easy and cheap! (The only costs were the elastic and thread, since it was an old comforter I already had!) Very easy!
