Question about milk....

Since I cannot tolerate pasturized milk but CAN have raw milk I am not REALLY allergic to milk, right? I am then just a byproduct of this germ fearing and growth hormone loving industry.

Pasturization destroys the beneficial enzymes that helps the human body assimilate the nutrients from milk thus making it hard for the body to absorb things like lactose, galactose, and even calcium.

Here are a few links about mik-

Anyone have more info, other good input? You ladies know you stuff and I love reading what you have to say

I'm curious about this too. My youngest reacts to casein so I'm not sure how he'd do on raw.

I too thoguth I was reacting to casein because I couldn't have a nibble of cheese or a tiny bit of yogurt but yet I seem to be doing great on raw milk. Sadly I drank the last of it today, have to make another milk run!!

Casein is casein no matter if it's been pasteurized or not.

True. But, the proteins in raw milk are different than the proteins in pasteurized milk. Apparently, in raw dairy the proteins are straight and easy to digest. When dairy is pasteurized the proteins kind of curl around themselves and become harder to digest. So...yes, casein is casein and true allergic/intollerant people can not have any dairy but I do know that many people who cannot tolerate pasteurized can do raw for this reason I mention. When I trial my DD this winter I will be starting with raw dairy.

None, that's the thing.

With pasturized milk, butter, yogurt, cheese, etc. I get horrible stomach upset- generally within 20 minutes- diarrhea, cystic acne, etc.

Dr. Ron Schmid's book, The Untold Story of Milk, is a must read. There are 3 good articles on his website.

Most benefits of breastmilk are in raw milk!
