Okay, I've been off the boards for about 3 weeks, ever since my little one made his appearance. Just wanted to check back in and say I've been coming around every few days to check birth announcements (and CONGRATULATIONS to all us new mamas!!).
I've been enjoying the babymoon, falling in love with my little man and trying to manage the stress of figuring out how to be a single mom to three. The husband has been a particular thorn in my side, causing all kinds of problems by making absurd demands and denying his paternity of the little guy. I don't much care if he doesn't want to take part in the baby's life, but I wish he'd just go away if that's the case. I gave the baby my maiden name anyway... not that the DNA donor even knows that yet.
Big Brother and Big Sister love the baby. And he (the baby) is a champion nurser. Still going through his 2-week Super-Nursing growth spurt, giving me huge, bra-defying knockers.
DD, who is almost 3 and was weaned before she was ready at 18 months, has taken up a renewed interest in nursing. She's not really great at it and doesn't do it often, but it's sweet during the times when she wants to snuggle up and have "na-na's" with the baby.
I promise to post some pictures and the birth story soon. It was a rough transition, but overall a gentle and very satisfying birth experience. I watched Independence Day fireworks while breathing through contractions... I have to say THAT was a unique experience!!!
