Tip of toddlers uncirc'd penis red with little bumps...

(Is this should be in another forum feel free to move it mods)

DS's foreskin is bright red with little bumps. His scrotum is also red. He's complaining it 'tickles' when I change his diaper but he's saying 'ow' too. Could it just be from the heat?

We're staying with friends in between moving so we are using sposies at the moment but have been using the same brand for a couple weeks.

Sounds like yeast! You might try using an OTC anti-yeast cream on it and see if that helps.

I just read the sticky on foreskin issues and went to our health food store in search of liquid acidophilis. They only had infant powder acidophilis that you take orally so I bought that. Since it is a powder would it be beneficial to put that on his diaper region? I did give him the oral dose.

Anti-yeast cream as in monistat, etc?

Yep, Monistat or Lotrimin, etc.

I wouldn't put the oral acidophilus in the diaper area, but it's great that you got it, and should feed it to him regularly as you're trying to resolve this. Most kiddos love it mixed in with applesauce.

I'm glad your son's intact, because if he wasn't, it'd be on his bare glans!

And to think some ignorant doctor might take a look at the whole Kit and Caboodle and say he "needs" to be circumcised. Well, he's got it all over his scrotum, too, and you don't advise cutting that off!

Hope he gets better fast please let us know if you get the monistate and how it works.

Thanks. We had some lotrimin on hand and are using that. I found this online: http://www.breastfeedingonline.com/yeast.shtml

So we're also doing the vinegar/water rinse, oral acidophilis, and ecinecea. He's still pink but not bright red so I guess its starting to work. Although we had very frequent diaper changes too since he pooped *7* times today. sigh... I think we need to cut back on fruit. lol.
