Adult Eczema - Weepy patches

Ever since I've known my husband, he has struggled with eczema. He has seen several dermatologists and been prescribed several ointments, sprays, etc., none of which have been helpful. We use a Cetaphil in the shower at one docs recommendation.

Husband works construction, so open-toed shoes are obviously not an option, and unfortunately many of his worst patches are on his feet/ ankles to the point that his socks are soaked from the weeping during the day. He also gets painful patches on his hands and forearms.

Wondering if anyone has had any success controlling adult eczema? I mentioned to my husband possibly cutting out dairy, but he grew up on a dairy farm and so he thought that idea was a little out there. At this point, however, I think he would try almost anything if it would give him some relief. He did have asthma as a child, but that is rarely a problem now ( he gets a little wheezy if we are around housepets).

Any ideas/suggestions would be so appreciated, I hate to see him struggling with this but I'm not sure how to help! It has gotten bad enough that he has mentioned going back to a dermatologist, but based on past experience they haven't been able to really help at all. Thanks!

If it is food related (pretty common in children, but I don't know what the food/eczema relation is for adults), then the ONLY way to get rid of it is to get rid of the bad foods. And elimination diet is the easiest way to see if it's a food issue.

I'm looking for help too. Recently I've had itchy, scaly patches on my fingers for about 10 days. I think it's related to food prep - slicing lemons, tomatoes, etc. Haven't found a good solution - guess I'll have to start wearing gloves and call a dermatologist.
