Daily 7/26

Thread Starter
Well, my EDD came and went yesterday with no signs of things heating up.
I've been out to the zoo with some other moms I met on my tribe here on MDC, and got a nice low backache from it. Baby is riding really low. But no bloody show, no mp. Hoping it happens this weekend because the mw I like is on call, but I don't feel it.

I am actually feeling pg-wise pretty good for less than a week to EDD, but I have a summer cold that keeps me from being able to breath through my nose and prevents me from sleeping well (as if I was before!) and now I have a sore throat/hoarse voice to boot. Bleh. How can something so insignificant as a cold make someone feel so $hitty!?!?!

I keep alternating between how you've expressed feeling and wanting this just to happen and thinking it's probably a good idea I go to my due date. My whole family will be here next weekend and my kids have the chicken pox right now so they wouldn't be able to come up to the ABC whereas next weekend they should be out of the contagious stage. Poor things, they are covered and the itching just started today.

Ah well, I guess God knows best so I'll just wait and try not to be an irritable PITA to everyone who comes w/in a 4 ft radius...LOL

Still here still preggo. Woke up with killer acid reflux and did not sleep too well unless I slept straight up. Oh, when will this baby decide to come out?!

i was due yesterday, too. i had a lot of pre-labor contracting last night, but nothing. baby feels low and 'tight' in there, like he is ready to come out. who knows? my back and belly are sore from all the warming up. please, today! i'll be hoping for all the rest, too! i wonder how many are left?

I'm still here, still just trying to finish up these last work projects so I can go into labor with a clean conscience. Last night (after dtd and a long dog walk), I was having lots of funny discomfort and twinge-y feelings down there, but nothing you would call a ctx, I think, and very little of that this morning. I'm trying to take care of some laundry this weekend (all our bed stuff, and prewashing all the cloth dipes), because I'm thinking we'll be getting lots of use out of those relatively soon...

I'm still here, too - with a still transverse babe! I can feel the hard lump of head on the right and hard lump of bum on the left and lots of kicks to the hooha - OUCH!! *sigh* I sure hope she turns on her own before Monday morning so that I don't have to do the version before the induction!

Happy Due Date to me!

No sign of anything happening though.

Well yesterday was one of my first EDD (the u/s one) and now the one I was thinking most accurate (ovulation) is on Wednesday so that would make me 39+3.
Last night after the full day of bloody show and loose stool, I had much more serious ctrx for 8 hours. I thought for sure that was it and was waiting for them to kick into high gear or for my water to break, but unfortunately it was not meant to be. Very frustrating. So then I end up up until 3 a.m. and wake up with SUCH a sore pelvic bone I can hardly walk! Hopefully that means all those ctrx were putting babe in a better position? I am not gonna pay any attention to ctrx today if I can help it - I am officially on the "it's not labour unless I am crowning" band wagon!

Jenn, it has to be soon for you! You've got so many signs of impending labor (aka crowning). My mw said the good news for those of us that practice is our body should know exactly what to do for a quick true labor. I wish that upon you and that it happens really soon!!

I have planned out something exciting to do every day starting Monday to help me get through this waiting period.
Monday - see midwife for appt
Tuesday - get my hair trimmed and lunch with a friend
Wednesdady - acupuncture to try to get things started
Thursday - pedicure and maybe a massage
Friday - lunch with a friend and if I still haven't had it another acupuncture appt

I'll plan beyond that if I'm still here next week...

Ah, still here too .

Had a good round of "practice" last night. I had abdominal muscle crampy pains on and off for hours, along with the low back ache and all that.

No MP, bloody show, or waters though.

But, it kept me up from about 4 am-6 am, so the body is doing something...

just stopping in to say hi. I was up with some contractions last night for a few hours that just petered out when I laid back down. I am trying to stay busy finishing my son's quilt to send him off to school with. It's a big project, but I'm still bummed and restless and ready for a baby! 38 weeks today

Well, things seem to be happening in there, although I don't think anything is imminent yet. I seem to have been losing bits of mucus plug all day, and even very light walking causes some pretty frequent uterine/cervical twinge-y pain and tightening. I also suspect that I MAY have lost a bit of amniotic fluid. IF I did, it was a VERY small amount--like less than a tsp--so I'm thinking (hoping) it was something else--I understand it's *much* easier to labor with the bag of waters intact--but I don't know how to tell. It didn't smell like pee--maybe it was just very very watery and clear CM? Any ideas? I'm thinking that if there are no repeat incidents in the next 24 hours then I'm going to assume it wasn't amniotic fluid--but no dtd until then, at least.

I've had some pretty watery CM where I had to think twice, but I figured moving or bearing down and trying different postitions would've brought about more if it was amniotic fluid. So I'd say if there was no repeats it was probably cm? Or I suppose it's possible for it to be a small leak and then reseal itself too?

Thanks. That's just what I'm thinking, too--sounds very reasonable. On one hand, I don't want to be melodramatic and assume it was my waters breaking, but on the other hand I don't want to be in denial and assume it was nothing, and then maybe do stuff that's unsafe (like dtd, baths, NOT rushing right into the hospital, etc.). Hm. Kinda annoying.

i am still pregnant! what gives?

i hope tonight is the night for me, and you guys too but mostly me

all i can do is mope around and occasionally tell dh i want the baby to be born soon. i think he wants it to happen sooner rather than later if only to be rid of my incessant complaining!

went to the midwife over at my BC this morning--she couldn't feel the baby's head, so I consented to an internal check. She felt the head at -1 station, so that was a good thing. Also said I was a fingertip dilated, which is not much, but at least it was soft! Anyway, I've had off and on contrx all day, a bit of mucus plug and bloody show, so I'm just trying to keep track more. I wouldn't call it labor just yet! I've had some interesting nights before!
