I am trying to decide what fabric to get to make some cute curtains for the children's playroom..... check these out... sooo cute!.... but it is flannel???

I want to cover the old futon in there too and make some pillow covers

Thank you!

Well, we have pets & I just know flannel would be covered in pet hair in no time. Just something to consider if you too have pets. Cute fabric though.

Thanks Mama! Didn't think of that.... no pets as of now... but I definitely see us getting a dog for the children to enjoy someday.

I would if you live in an area with cold winters, it would act as an insulator

The dyes on fabric that is meant for garments instead of as decorator fabric is more likely to fade in the sun. Flanel is also prone to pilling and may not last very long on pillows and cushions (if you've ever had flannel sheets you may have noticed this happen.) Individual fabrics will vary ofcourse, but generally decorator fabrics are made to withstand being used the way you describe and will stand up to it better.

However, I would probably go ahead and make the curtains, and cover the futon. No it won't last as long, but then again you LOs are going to out grow those juvenile patterns and want something "cool" in a few years anyway.

Thanks Mamas! I really appreciate your input! I am going to check out a few other online stores to see if there is anything else that I like... but I am pretty sure that I will go with this one... too cute

Thank you again!
