Does that mean I'm dialating or is that just wishful thinking?

I forgot how uncomfortable the last few weeks of pregnancy is!

I do remember those lovely pains.....my ob told me that my cervix was beginning to soften, and dilate.....although if i remember correctly it was happening maybe 3 weeks before I went into labor.

I get those all the time. It feels like the baby is jumping on my cervix.

I had those all the time with my DS and I was not soft or dilated when I had to be induced at almost 40 weeks!

I'm having them this time as well, but not as often and they started a lot later. I'm guessing it's just her big head pushing on my cervix.

I thought it was the baby moving around and pressing down. :

I get 2 different ones- there's a scratching type one and a sharp knife pain one. Anyways, for me it IS effacing and dilation. I started feeling it about 32 wks this time and at 33 wks was 2 cm and 50%.

I'm getting them too. It started the morning after hubby & I DTD & it feels like kiddo is poking at my cervix with a finger. (Very sharp little pokes more than general pressure I suppose)

I get those too. I heard (here on MDC, I think) that those were the baby jabbing its elbow or some other hard bit into your cervix, so that's what I've been picturing when it happens. I know I started getting them before I found out from the OB that I was mostly effaced and a tiny bit dilated, but I couldn't say whether the two things are related or not.

I started getting them just recently. I was 100% effaced last week so I'm hoping for some dilation but I don't think the two are necessarily correlated.

Oh well, I enjoy all the cervix-y feelings I can get.
