S/O: everybody google circ

If we all google circ and then only click on the good sites (nocirc.org, mothering.com, etc) then those sites will come up closer to the top when others google circ while doing research.

I totally spent about 30 minutes doing just that after reading this post earlier!
Hope it moved them up some.

Googles been offering suggestion for related searches too, so if we also do things like benefits, risk, baby, etc, we can get good sits to come up before certain :Pukethat I won't mention by name.

AFAIK this is not how google determines results. When google serves you the search results page, it has a list of links, when you click on one, it goes directly to that site, google has no way of knowing you clicked that link. Other search engines are different, they put a link between you and your result so they can record you clicked it, but not google.

Google's results are based on how many other sites link to that site and how good a reputation that site has and what key works the links use. So the best way to get the sites you want to come up first to be prominent is to link to them from a ton of different sites with the keyword as the text of the link.

If you have the google toolbar, clicking on the site you want will make it more popular with google, as in that case, google transmits data about what you are looking at back to google. I'm not sure exactly how that works however.

And if you are member and signed in, it def tracks your clicks. It even pulls keywords from your emails if you let them, which I do b/c I Google!

whew... that's what I did- through the google toolbar... because i do google that much, too!
