Nah... you just beat me to it.
Started having contractions about 3 a.m. this morning, about 10 mins apart. Didn't get up to time them. Some were pretty strong. Then a lot of bloody show this morning and contractions continued about 7 mins apart. We'll see if it stays moving!
LOTS of pressure on the cervical area. It's like I can feel the thing opening up. Lots of crampiness more or less constantly.

I started a daily thread today too but guess I was longer winded and you posted first! LOL

39+5 today. Woke up to a few good ctrx last night but went right back to sleep. (had a really good sleep actually)
Lots more goop lost this morning (I thought after the bloody show there wouldn't be that much more to lose??)
I am gonna call my doc office today. I have an appt tomorrow, but my doc is technically on holidays so I see a resident who I am assuming can't make any hard core decisions. My doc told me he'd still be around everyday except tomorrow so if I call the office I am hoping to get a hold of him and see about making some sort of deal. :-) If I have progressed from my 2cm on Thurs with all this frustrating early-labour crap to say a 4cm, Can he send word to the hospital or come himself to break my water assuming baby is in a good low position etc....? I know most of you are against that type of thing, but I had such a quick labour with my 2nd, I am so worried that by the time the hard stuff hits, I could end up delivering in my car!
We'll see what happens.

Materfamilias...I could have written your exact post!

I'm 40+2 and I woke up this morning to bad menstrual-like cramps and then I lost my mucous plug. Cramps continued...then lots of bowel stuff and more show. Now I'm still having the cramps/contractions but I'm not sure exactly how often because I'm not really timing yet. Something like every 15 minutes or so. And lots of cervical pressure. Which is interesting, because like 2 days ago, baby felt so incredibly high to me.

I have no idea if this means something will happen today or tomorrow or not...BUT I'm just so happy to have my first signs of progress and to feel like my body is doing what it needs to do!! yay! :

39+6 here, and nothing much happening. After it felt like she was growing restless in there on Saturday, I thought things would gear up Sunday, but no. No more MP, no more major BH every time I walked more than 5 steps, etc. Lots of new and uncomfortable wiggling in there, but not much else. So, I'm back at work this morning, business as usual.

Good luck, you guys--it sounds like some of you are getting close!!

I'm still here! My EDD was either Thursday the 24th or tomorrow...I get ctxs everyday but never timeable or getting stronger, crampy, my lower back feels like it does when I have my period. Just the same ol' Officially getting a little frustrated.

I want labor! I felt the baby's hands WAY low, like at my panty line so I'm also tired of people asking me if the baby 'dropped' - considering he was always carried low and where he currently is, if he 'dropped' anymore he'd be born!

A few contrx last night, but mostly, my stomach felt icky! We had Indian takeout, so perhaps that was it. I'm 39w6d.

Well i tried the doc and only the office eamil is available (no receptionist) so I guess I will have to talk to the resident tomorrow.
I am gonna go on the lake today and maybe not even bring the cell phone - the baby sill surely decide he wants to make an appearance then! LOL

sorry about the thread-starting confusion...

i am 3 days 'late' today.

i am so completely miserable! when i was pg with # 1 i went 5 days 'late' but i was never this uncomfortable. i can hardly pee because the baby's head is right there- i can feel it with my fingers! i am about 5cm dilated. sitting, standing, everything hurts! and every time i lay down at night i have a whole bout of 'labor' that leaves me tired and sore in the morning along the sides of my belly and lower back.

there is nothing more emotionally torturous than knowing labor could start at any moment. every night i hope it will be The Night and every night It Isn't.

i sound like such a whiner!

Still here, still the same!

I tried some nipple stimulation last night, and it did give me contractions, but they stopped shortly after.

mrforbes, I feel pretty much just like you describe as well, no MP, no bloody show...but the low acheyness backache like before I get my period.

materfamilias, sounds promising! ELV!

calynde, sounds promising for you too! ELV!

MW appt. this afternoon if things don't pick up, I'm definitely having an internal to check...

Not to get too personal (is that still possible?), but do you get ctx DURING nipple stimulation, or do they just seem to start up sometimes afterwards? Early this weekend we did a LOT of nipple stimulation, and it didn't seem to cause anything during the act (I mean, it was fun and all , but no ctx), but maybe it had something to do with all the uterus activity I felt later in the day and the next day? If it's helping, then I'm happy to do it, but at this point my nipples are already kinda tender and sore, so I don't want to keep at it if it's just "for fun".

I'd say they start at the tail end, but mostly, right afterwards .

Hm, thanks--probably doesn't sound like it was doing much for me, then. So maybe we'll go easy on those, unless/until they start to do something--I don't want to be too sore already whenever baby decides to show up....

For me, the contractions step up *during* the aforementioned activity.

Still having lots of show and very ouchy contractions which seem to be getting more intense as the evening progresses. Fingers crossed!

Still here to and every day getting grumpier and grumpier. I knew going into this pregnancy I would go over, but I was really hoping not to. 40w3d today, at night I get strong menstrual like cramps and lots of bh cntrx. I get about 4-5 really strong cntrx a day but thats it. No change in cm, and no bloody show.

I am starting to panic that I will go 15 days over like I did with my first. I have had two inductions, and the two that went on their own were 15 days over and 4 days over.

I don't post much, but I'm still here - today's my due date. I have an appt. today to talk about options, I'm guessing we'll just strip membranes. I am starting to think about induction... I have always been anti-induction, but this baby is sitting on my sciatic nerve and I can't walk well or take care of my 2 year old DD barely at all. As much as I would like to avoid the meds, I need to think about my family too. sigh. Here's hoping the membrane strip works.

I should add, no mucus plug, barely any contrax (only at night), no blood or spotting.... just pure pain.

Would a chiro help this late in the game with baby position, if I haven't gone to one before?

I'm still here. Nothin' goin' on. I'm trying to be patient since I haven't even hit my due date. I just hope that eventually I go into labor. My backup OB mentioned something about sweeping the membranes so I better look that up before my apt on thursday.

Saw my mw today - she counts me as 40 weeks today. Baby is great, heartbeat is good, size is good, he is in good position at LOT. I'm good, nothing in urine, BP is great. Other than some back pain I'm feeling good! We talked about natural induction methods. I have an acupuncture appt Wed, and the hope is that will start some ctx patterns. Then if I want to - only if I want to so I'm not fully decided - I can take castor oil or switch off cohoshes to made the ctx pattern stick. Or, I can wait and do acupuncture. Either way because we are firm on due dates, we'd like him to come this week...and if not, we will look at stripping membranes or something next week. At least I have a plan

Oh HulaJenn, I wish it would work for you already!
