was that the family in Oregon? If it was, it was a mom and her infant and possibly 4 or 5 year old and dad went to search for help. The 3 of them were in the car for like 3 days and mom nursed, then, both children (4 year old I'm guessing wasn't nursing anymore) I don't remember if they ever found dad.
IT was an asian looking family--if anyone else remembers.
