ya what about extreme makeover? only watched it once but it made me so sad. there was this rancher lady who went through all this plastic surgery to look younger and when it was through, she said that it made her realize that she was ok to begin with. i watch this stuff and feel mixed because on the one hand we should all just learn to love who we are la da la da la da but the fact is that i have mostly always felt attractive and have never really experienced what these people have experienced and this world is cruel. i cannot judge these people. they have a right to feel good about there bodies and hopefully this helps them do that. hopefully.(im not implying that you are judging, this is just how i feel):

the man on the street desiring a makeover..extreme even.. I really can understand.

It is the constant tweaking by stars that really can get just down creepy. by the way, I'm not opposed to plastic surgery in general. Not at all...but the level of work going on now with celebs is at an all time high.

See.... I think that's Rob's ACTUAL hair. It's great looking short and then... at a certain length it suddenly looks like someone parked a gerbil on his head. I watched in utter fascination as it fluctuated between those two states on The West Wing.

I am against elective plastic surgery. It scares me what it says about our society.

The old "Twilight Zone" had a couple of episodes about plastic surgery.

One is the famous "In The Eyes Of The Beholder", with Donna Douglas (Ellie Mae of the "Beverly Hillbillies") which was updated and remade as an episode on "Night Gallery" in the early 1970's.

Then there is another one about an old couple who go to get rejuvenated, and then realize their assets will allow only one of them to undergo the procedure. They do each try it as I recall, and then decide in the end that they are fine the way the are and walk off together to spend their Golden Years together in peace and harmony.

There were others, one I recall mostly about a totalitarian State that required extreme conformity in which everyone had to be perfect and beautiful.

I loved rod serling.
I remember that episode well.

We revisited it when Anna Nicole married that old guy.
