Opinions please!

Here's what I have, you tell me what I should make!

10 diaperwrap covers in each size - newborn, small, medium, large

20 prefolds-regular size- that are pretty worn, DS still wears them!

I just felted two sweaters and was thinking about making some wool longies as my next baby will be born in December.

I have a cotton jersey sheet, a thin flannel sheet, some fleece (probably not microfiber, but works well when I lay it in a diaper at night to keep DS somewhat dry), some old towels, lots of old t-shirts and a sewing machine.

I never used a fitted before and honestly, I just don't get what all the fuss is about. I used prefolds and wraps since day one and they seemed to work ok. HOwever I can see how maybe it would be good for explosive poos.

I made one Rita's Rump diaper today (inside)(outside) and it turned out ok, but I think I need some better elastic. I used some of the fleece for the inside and some of the flannel sheet for the outside. Then I made a newborn sized prefold, using the jersey sheet and two layers of towel for the middle part (picture) but frankly it was a pain in the butt. Plus if I am using fitteds that I can stuff, I could just make some soaker pads (out of towels or t-shirts) to put in there, right?

Anyway, any advice would be great. I don't really want to buy any fabric, I'd like to just use what I have. I don't have snappis or pins, never used them but I could see where they would come in handy.

Ok, so tell me your thoughts!

Man, I hope some diaper divas post some advice on this one cuz I'm with you. I have almost all the same stuff as you and the same idea, so someone please help us!

sounds like you have a pretty good stash already. I would maybe suggest some infant size prefolds. There's a tutorial in the stickies up top for prefolds out of t-shirts but you could use the jersey sheet instead. It looked like a pretty easy method, I am not sure how you did the one you said was a pain-maybe this way would be easier? The reason I say infant prefolds is because they make a good size insert for the Rump pockets too so you can get double use out of them, and also they fit nicely in the newborn covers so you don't have so much bulk folded up in there. I just made a couple RRPs and have liked them so far. I pin them which is no big deal, even on a squirmy 15 month old. I just got the cheapo gerber pins and they work fine. I do also use prefold most of the time but the RRPs have been nice on occasion because they seem less bulky under certain clothes and if I pre-stuff them they fold up and fit nicely in the diaper bag for outtings!

Thanks for the advice! I actually just used the RRP on my 3-YEAR-OLD yesterday! It fit well which makes me think, there's NO WAY this is going to fit a baby! Maybe I'll make some smaller pockets and def. some prefolds. I just like the idea of not having to wash the wrap every time baby poos. Again, thanks. I guess I still have lots of time to experiment.
