I have "Homebirth" by Sheila Kinzinger but am looking for a few other books. Maybe something like "Emergency Childbirth" by Gregory J. White. I think I'll get that one. Any other's anyone may recomend, or can you point me to a past thread that this might be covered in. Thanks!

Special Delivery by Rahima Baldwin
The Complete Book of Pregnancy & Childbirth by Sheila Kitzinger

I'd skip the Gregory White book - I own it & have read it and I really didn't care for it at all. It's more of a 'if you find yourself having a baby on the side of the road' medical type of book imo and refers to women as dirty and says how they should optimally shower before giving birth or some crappola like that. If you're concerned about a possible accidental UC (which, incidentally I've had), read up on the UC forum for tips on how to handle things.

isn't the gregory white one the "how to deliver a baby after the mother's head is chopped off" book?

i'd skip it too ... ;P

Ina Mae Gaskin's Guide to Childbirth is so inspiring!

Doesnt that Gregory White book say that baptising the baby is more important than continuing resusitation efforts?!?:

Read Ina May Gaskins books. They are super helpful and Spiritual Midwifery has lots of technical "how to" advice.

Definitely the Ina May books. I also liked Birthing from Within by Pam England. It is about the whole process of birth and preparing for it, not just specifically homebirth, but I think there is a homebirth chapter.

Exactly! I think I found a HB Midwife but she is 2 hours away. I'm in shock, excited, nervous and have the need to read

Yes to this. It really surprised me, and made me sad.
