Tori Spelling on the View

Thread Starter
anyone watch this crap today? a friend of mine just watched it.

"Infamil mirrors bm so closely now..more studies are coming out that prove we dont need to bf as long as we thought".

im just wondering how long *she* ever thought we ever needed too???

according to her, 2 weeks is the max benefit.

LOL! I guess we just x-posted!
Ok-so I'm not the only one to have heard it! Yes, she said something about a formula-but DD started talking, and I couldn't hear her. ARGH!!!

YES! Gee, I just saw this on TV and wanted to create a post myself.

IMO - celeb's need to stick to what they do best, entertain! Enough with getting involved in medical advice and politics, ok? Especially when they have no idea what they are talking about. She says that doctors and medical stats are proving that babies only need the first two weeks so they can get the colostrum and that's about it..... what medical stats is she reading?? Page six????? Ugh.

Also, they discussed wet nursing to some extent on this episode saying it was "gross"... I've never done it, but I certainly don't think it's gross. I remember a while back they were talking about extended breast feeding and saying it was inappropriate. Geeeez, you'd think a bunch of women would be a little more educated on such topics. Don't discuss a "hot topic" until you've done your research ladies!!!

I have it recorded, so I just went back and watched it. I'm sure there are some studies out there (probably funded by enfamil) that say bfing isn't necessary for more than 2 weeks. I'm just bothered that she actually believes them!

I have to defend Sherri Shepherd (sp?) on this one. She was defending using someone else's breast milk. She said she had to do it when her son was born. She even said she had a friend who produced more milk than necessary and gave it away.

I stopped watching The View a while ago because of them bashing bf'ing. I turn it on today and hear Tori say that crap! I've got to stop catching that show.

Made Tori sound like an idiot! All the hosts were like, "Huh?"

This is EXACTLY why I ONLY watch Animal Planet during the day with my girls...at least those mamas on those shows breast feed!

We are talking Tori Spelling. I wonder if she even knew that breastfeeding was possible

I just joined myspace so I could leave a comment for her about it. I know it won't help, but it will make me feel better.

The View hosts were actually less negative than I thought they would be about cross nursing. Whoopi saw nothing wrong with it, she was actually pretty funny (not sure I agree completely with her when she says all babies know is that a boob=food and they don't have a clue who the heck Mommy is, but it was really funny all the same, LOL!)

good idea. I'll comment as soon as she adds me as a friend

it might help. if there's enough backlash she'll have to do PR damage control and maybe learn a thing or two in the process.

Um, except if the celebrity is Ricki Lake. Because her, I agree with.

I x-posted this in BFing also, but I have to say, what's interesting is Tori is breastfeeding Stella and nursed Liam for 6 full months, I believe. I have to wonder if she mentioned it because she's going to or has signed on to shill Enfamil.

It's Tori Spelling, what were you expecting? Rock Science?
she doesn't exclusively bf. she had some big talk on soem late night show about how she didn't make enough milk and how you have this idea that milk is jsut going to flow like a river and it isn't true, blah blah blah. she also had breast enhancemnet when she was a teenager and still hasn't put it together that it probably messed up her supply.
she should have talked to Pam anderson about that.
are you reading pammy? maybe you could educate her a little about nursing with implants?

Reminder that a. Tori Spelling is human and thus we can't call her names on MDC and b. there's no need to bash ff'ing mothers in general just because she's ill-informed.

Thanks!

: Too funny, and sadly, so true!!

I had to stop watching most daytime tv, as it wasn't worth all the censoring I had to do-either commercials or the show itself.

Yeah,Animal Planet is a safe one.

Animal Planet is safe so far...but I'm just waiting for the day they censor out the nursing shots with a big cartoon animal-baby bottle.

The attitude that artificial milk is just as good as breastmilk is harmful to families. I am very disappointed to hear that no one set Spelling straight on the show. Unfortunately people do believe celebrities.

Yes, people do believe celebrities. And with someone like Tori Spelling, who is young(to me), rich, beautiful, and skinny-sooo many young women will take her word as *the* word. Now Ricki Lake-notsomuch. Why? Because she is not young, not*that* rich, not beautiful or skinny(according to our sick society's ideals).:
