Wow! Tori Spelling on The View-HORRIBLE!!!

Wouldn't you know, the first time I watch this(or try to) in ages,I am-again- in shock!

Tori Spelling is on and says,"I think the latest studies show you need only to breastfeed for two weeks." (Ihope I got that quote right..)

What???

Please, tell me I'm not the only one to see this!

(DD said,"Mom! She's tellinga huge lie-and she's famous!"

What a user agreement violation. Who is really that uninformed?

Hmm who do I go with? The world Heath Organization or Tori spelling?
(just kidding with ya!) It is infuriating!

Lol, yes, I just posted on the other "tori spelling - the view" post. :

I would be banned if I posted my true feelings on what Tori said, so I'll just say that I think it's sad she is so misinformed and that she was given a platform to spread her misinformation.

I just can't understand why anyone would say something like that!

It boggles the mind. Babies need to be fed well past two weeks. If breastmilk is available it is the best option. If it is not formula keeps the baby alive and growing.

But to talk like there's no added benefit past two weeks? What is this 1950?

Was it during her interview? Why wouldn't one of the other ladies correct her? Surely EH knows that it is longer than two weeks, right?

: What a ridiculious statement to make, and have NO ONE correct her. Idiot statements are made on that show all the time- you would think they aren't afraid of correcting ANYONE.

She also seems a little off her rocker anyway.

Am I allowed to say that's really... dumb.
I'm so glad someone posted this. My jaw hit the floor when I saw it this morning (and I watch this show once in a blue moon, if that.)

And she said that now they have things like Enfamil that have everything breastmilk has!

And then there was Whoopi Goldberg swearing that babies can't tell whether they're nursing from mama or someone else. "All they care about is getting a meal!"

well all I have to say if anyone actually LISTENS to her, there is something wrong with them. Probably one of the least intelligent people I have ever see would be TS.

Actually, I was going to post that I'd be surprised that Elisabeth didn't just agree. Sorry, but EH doesn't exactly strike me as an expert on breastfeeding either.

For a woman who seems desperate to be a good mother, Tori seems ... well, just not that informed on motherhood.

lol. I just wrote Perez Hilton and told him about this. He usually posts dumb stuff that the women say on The View. Maybe he can clear it up and point out that she is an idiot.
hopefully she will get a lot of "fan" mail explaining exactly how wrong she is. God, I bet her pediatrician gave her that gem of wisdom :

otoh, I read her autobiography : and she really does seem to want to be a good mother who does everything "right", so I think if she knew the truth and had been more informed (as in, read more than the back of a can of formula for bf'ing advice) she would have tried to bf longer.

Sounds like a guilty mama trying to make herself feel better about her choices and priorities. How sad.
Sounds like she's trying for an endorsement deal from a formula company a la EH.

That was my first thought as well.

He must be really busy, then. Honestly, I find those women (especially Elizabeth Hasselbeck) to be infuriating, spewing their idiocy on national television.

Perhaps she didn't think it prudent, considering she is a spokesperson for Bright Beginnings formula.

I actually found this kinda funny...obviously it is oversimplfying the nursing relationship, but at some level this has to be at least a little true - otherwise, cross-nursing would never work, right?

I know all that I just thought she would be better educated about recommended length of BF since she just had a baby! Oh well maybe she wishes it was only 2 weeks then she wouldn't have to feel bad for selling out for some money!
