Hello! I never post here, but...
I just (2 months ago) started working for a local CSA (farm that delivers produce to the community). When I was hired, it was to be 10-20 hours a week, just light office type work. Return emails, phone calls, etc. Well, since I have been on the job this long, I have come to see how DISORGANIZED this place is. As in, there is absolutely no organization & I am supposed to be the 1 to get everything organized. Basically build the business from the ground up, behind the scenes, so to speak.
Obviously, this was not what I signed on for. The hours are getting to be longer and longer each week. I have 2 small children, I homeschool, I am in training to be a yoga teacher and I run a health food co-op in our town. I don't need this much more on my plate. I need to quit. I truly should have thought more about it before I said I would work for them, but I did not, so that is water under the bridge.
Here is my question (finally
): in this type of situation, what is the appropriate amount of notice to give? I am at the point where I am ready to just phone in my resignation, but I feel that would be very inappropriate of me. I am just that frustrated with the job. I love the idea behind it and my boss is truly a sweet woman, but...
I guess I should add that I don't need this job for money. I only did it for the produce that I would get for free. I don't plan on ever putting this job on a resume.
Ok, I will await your replies!
