Last time you and your teen went out together?

Just the two of you, to do something fun?...
Movies? dinner? a play? just a walk?

DSD and I did movies and nails today, and I want to make an effort to go out to do things together just a little bit more. All and any ideas are welcome. :

I took my 14 & 16 yr olds to the library today, and then for ice cream. This morning we all played UNO a couple of times because the 9 yr old asked us. lol

Yesterday late afternoon, the 19, 14, & 16 yr olds, & I all watched Big Daddy together.

I ::Adam Sandler.

Last Wednesday my MIL picked up my 3 yo so I got the whole morning with my 14 yo dd. We shopped, had lunch and strolled and window shopped. It was so nice to be alone with her - usually lil sis is always with us!

Last Friday, my son and I went into the city and walked around, had lunch and did some shopping, it was a good time. Even moreso in my case since ds will be heading back to his Dad's house next week.

I try to spend time with my DD1 every so often. We last spent time at the mall [spending money of corse]. We went clothes shopping for august [apparently DD1 needs a wardrobe for every month ]We then got some lunch, and browsed around for a bit. We then went out for desert. I enjoyed the time with her though.

DD1 and I went out together this morning. First we went to a class that I attend every Wednesday morning all year long, but she usually can't attend with me due to school or camp. Then from there we went to the pharmacy, then the library, and then the supermarket (where she thoroughly enjoyed selecting healthy delicious food for the house, especially after a month of camp food!)

Doing errands isn't exactly exciting, but it was time alone together without the other siblings and very much enjoyed.

My older dd and I went to see Mama Mia! together last sunday. I haven't been anywhere with my nearly 20 yr old in a while (because he's away at school and awfully busy anymore) but my dh and he went to a movie not long ago together (dh stopped at ds's school after work.)

I take each kid individually school shopping every year - we get school supplies, some clothes, and go out to eat just the two of us alone, and this is a really popular annual tradition in our household. I'm finding it easier to spend individual time with dd (13) right now, because she and I like a lot of the same things. My little ds (11) just doesn't get as excited about a chick flick or a trip to a yarn store!

Last week DS1 and I went to supper together. DS2 and I are overdue for some 1-on-1 time, as he's gone to a few events with DH lately. DS3 gets plenty of time with just me.

DD and I walk or jog together almost every morning. She and DH walk in the evenings.

We went out to lunch and then to a bookstore where we picked out a book for us both to read and have our own "book club" on.

Ds and I will be going to see Dark Knight on Monday, my first evening off work for a while. Was it as good as all the reviews are saying?

Ds has been out of town for the last month, so I'm looking forward to spending some time together. He's changed so much lately, I've been a little non-plussed to think of something we'd both enjoy. I am looking forward to starting to take him to clubs for shows soon.

Both my teens went to a concert in the park with me a few times. It was great fun! Then Ds (17) and I saw a movie too. We also hit the lake for some swimming/bridge jumping.

I did not want to see The Dark Knight and totally deferred to DH on it.
Not to sound like a teeny bopper but...
O!M!G! The Joker was the scariest and most brilliant villain I have ever seen. He haunted me for days afterwards. I had never heard of Heath Ledger until he died. What a remarkable actor and what a tremendous loss to the world.

Alone time is hard to come by with my teen, but we did sneak off to a lunch together a week or so ago. I think if my husband didn't work such an odd shift we could do more things together without the toddlers. I know my daughter aches for that, since it was just me and her for 15 years.

Just yesterday. I took them all to the book store. We love books

I already posted on this thread, too, but I've started the annual school shopping trips and took my littlest today. She's only 5 and starting kindie, so no where near a preteen or teen yet, but I was surprised at how much fun it was to be alone with her - she has matured so much in the last year! I'm really looking forward to having each older kid to myself. I wish there were more of me so I could spend more time with each kid. That's what I get for having 4, I suppose.

My 15 year old daughter and I are going thrift shopping this Saturday...all the males in the house are going to a ball game and she wasn't interested in going.
We already did the school shopping trip, so I thought it would be fun to pilfer through a bunch of t-shirts and things to add to her school wardrobe.
Doing things like this allows me the chance to really tap into where her head is at - we chatter back and forth all day.
