So, DS has been dropped for the first time.

Hey, it only took 4 weeks!

DH was downstairs with DD and DS. He had DS in the swing and was wrestling around with DD and making pillow forts. DD walked over to the swing and looked like she was just hugging him. DH says he was right there watching, and she just picked him up! As DH started off the floor she just opened her arms and down he fell . (Whenever DH starts towards DD if she's holding something she shouldn't, she just tosses it. I said we're lucky she just dropped him and didn't throw him ) He fell straight down on his butt and then tipped over. I heard the "No! NO! NOOOOOO!" and came back downstairs. DS was totally uninjured, and DD is scared for life as she's never heard so much yelling in her life.

So, how's the sibling situation for everyone else?

Awww, mama

I have 4 kids (ages 6, 5, 4, 2) so our sib situation is...well, you can guess Our babe is due in December...hopefully all will go well! I think the boys will leave the babe alone (always have) but dd (who is 2) well...she loves babies and what not..so we may have to keep a close eye on her!!

Glad your babe is okay and give a to dd too for me!!

DD is 19 mo and not really big enough to hold ds- but she does like to point out his body parts which is funny, unless it's his "EYE!!!!" and then she pokes him in the eye.

She also screams bloody murder every time he cries.... makes for some interesting car rides!

DD loves to go over to the swing and stand right in front of it so it jerks to a stop: This happens 14893487298483209 times a day. luckily DS is the kind of baby who falls right back asleep. Still annoying though. Poor kid can't get into a deep sleep. Otherwise DD loves him to pieces. i have caught her a few times trying to pick him up though.

aww Glad he wasn't hurt.

My girls are 6, 4 ,2 and so far they have been really good with the baby. There all a bunch of mother hens and they treat him like a doll. My youngest I have to keep a VERY close eye as she has been trying to pick him up when he is having tummy time and she thinks its fun to push his swing REALLY fast:

How scary! I'm glad he's okay.

DS1 basically ignores DS2, except on the rare occasion he asks to hold him. DD on the other hand, I don't think she was quite ready to give up being the baby. She spends as much time around him as she can, trying to "help." In short, she's driving me nuts, and I sometimes fear for DS2's safety. It's one reason I'm not enjoying this little baby stage like I did with the other 2.

Pretty well actually! We also have the "Eye?" problem... POKE! He also tries to shove pacis (we're not doing one this time if we can help it) and cheerios in his mouth...

Glad to hear he's ok!

Hah, my son does this to his baby brother too!

Which was especially problematic since I got an eye infection right after I had the babe (fell asleep with my contacts in ).

I'm most concerned with my older son's tendency to want to grab Rowan's head and yank it around, though. "HEAD! Baby...head!!"

My 23 month old grabbed the blanket that the new one was swaddled in this morning. Luckily, he was on the floor, but totally unwrapped him most un-gentle-y in his haste to get at the blanket.

He also has taken to stealing the pacifier right out of Mac's mouth (the toddler never took a pacifier; the new baby loves his).

Awww... I'm sure it's coming around here!

Our girls are finding it a bit disappointing just how little she can do. They're ready to play with her! Mom is happy the more she sleeps, but they think she's sleeping way too much!

Lexi is 5 and not much of a problem. Caymen, 2, I have to watch! She just LOVES baby, but can be a little rough. She also tries to let Avalon suck on her finger(s). (which have been who knows where ) She's asked about picking her up a few times, but mama put an end to that...no fun.

Yes, DD likes to copy DS's cries, especially in the car! Fortunately they are not the bloody murder type cries, more of a mocking his cries kind of noise.

DH has made multiple comments that DS will be starting solids much sooner than DD did...no thanks to her! She hasn't tried that trick yet, though!

If DS cries in the car, I reach back and give him my pinky finger to suck. So DD has seen that happen....she's asked if he can suck her finger (her "tinna" she says) but hasn't tried it on her own. I have seen her sucking her fingers lately though, and she's never done it before.

All in all DD loves DS to pieces. She wants to kiss him all over and hold him and obviously pick him up, too. Most of the time she's so good with him! I feel badly, though, that I'm saying "no" all the time. No this, no that. In the past we kept no to a minimum by making her environment safe for her to explore. This has thrown a curve, though! I don't imagine it will harm her too much, however. Besides, the way DS is nursing, she won't be able to pick him up soon!
