Hey Crafty Mamas!
I've got a set of 12 BG 3.0s that I plan on using with my impending arrival, but I'm afraid they might not quite fit a newborn. I have some secondhand Kissaluvs in NB sizing that I'd like to use if she's too small for the BG.
Anyhow, I'd like to knit some wool soakers to use as covers for the Kissaluvs. I like the CurlyPurly pattern (here: http://www.curlypurly.com/pdf/soaker.pdf) but I have some questions about wool yarn/roving.
Namely, how important is lanolin? I'm a handspinner, so I have tons of wool roving and yarn around the house. But, it's all clean, non-greasy roving. (I don't like to spin or knit with greasy wool.) Is lanolin essential to a good wool diaper cover? If so, would it be a viable solution to add lanolin to the finished garment somehow? How would I go about doing that?
I hope someone here can help me! I feel like in general I know a lot about wool, but very little about using it as a diaper cover.
Thanks,
Amelia
