is this a crazy idea??

i was thinking i could make some mama cloths from my dd'd old dipes. now i am NOT crafty whatsoever but i have a friend who is and she might be willing to help.

the dipes are very plain, white with velcro (are they called pre-folds? the ones that are shaped not just a rectangle)

so is there a pattern that i could use that anyone knows of? or maybe i could just cut off the flappy parts and sew velcro on the bottom? anyone ever done this? is it a dumb idea?

i dont use them but am making some for my neice. and i am using old cd.
i did fleece on top and a waterproof for the bottom and done up with a snap just put them all together and sew around two times. got the pattern from (there is also a simpler one at the bottom)

I use dipe inserts for pads because I'm too lazy to actually sew them. They don't move around that much, but they could be easily safety pinned in.

Oh, this only really works because I had the low-flow Mirena thing going on and now the diva cup. I don't know that it would work with a regular flow and no other protection.
