I have this idea about a website that would put people in touch with locally owned businesses, to not only reduce the carbon footprint of transporting goods, but keeping money within communities. Basically, translating the 100-mile diet into 100-mile shopping. Would it be worth it for a WAHM to pay a fee to advertise on a site that allowed your customers to search by zip code?
I'm trying to determine if this is something that is worth pursuing. I know that I try and shop locally, but also do a fair bit of online searching for the homemade goodies that I want and can't find. On occasion I've found someone local, but have no way of knowing most of the time.
Thanks in advance for your input!
