(rant) What the BLEEP is wrong with people???

I'm pretty sure my best friend (who was a nurse and ironically worked in a nursing library) had her preemie circed. She was over the other day and I sort of peeked when she was quickly changing his diaper. I didn't want to stare, and he's so chubby you can barely see his penis...in fact it looks like its almost totally buried! I didn't ask her though...but it looks like either he's cut, or I'm just hoping that maybe he's got a really short foreskin!

My sister's son had a buried penis. She had him circ'ed though. She was upset about it and when I told her that was what it was she brought it up to her ped and he said he'd never heard of any such thing as a buried penis and it wasn't at all circumcision related and that I was full of crap.

It sounds like he's trying to avoid a lawsuit, don't ya think? Geez.... It's scary how ignorant those so called medical professionals are!

You should print out info on buried penis for her, maybe she can find a good lawyer.

My sister's a moron. She does not take good care of her children. She was just upset because his penis was so small and she's worried his future girlfriends will make fun of him. She's uneducated and lazy and self-centered. I gave her all the information to choose not to circumcise in the first place and she went along with whatever our mom and the doctors said. She is a sheep. But if their doctors tell them something they don't like they come to me for advice in regards to things like breastfeeding and parenting since I have 7 healthy children. But they pick and choose what they do because they're too lazy for a lot of the things I practice in parenting. I just get really irritated when her pediatrician gives her misinformation which he does very often. She called a nurse with a question about breastfeeding after calling me first. The nurse gave her different advice so then my sister told her what I had said. The nurse told her she wasn't an LC and never breastfed herself and that I would know more about what worked than she would so she should listen to me. But because she wanted reassurance on the buried penis situation she was more than willing to accept that I was just full of crap. She's a strange individual. My 2nd ds was born about 8 mos after hers and she was jealous because his penis was so much bigger.

Ugh, that would be SO frustrating, you are right! I got a bunch of books for my friend, one of them was Dr Paul Fleis's book, What your doc may NOT tell you about circumcision...I guess my friend didn't bother reading it, or read it and then just was a sheep anyway.

Why on earth would she believe these quacks, and then when something goes wrong, as it invariably does, run to you? And then not believe you when they say you are wrong...hmm. Maybe she thinks that just because they have letters after their name that they are like gods...some people think that way for some reason.

You could always tell your sister that if you would have had your son circ'd, it would have been way smaller (for what it's worth).

You can lead a person to knowledge, but you can't make 'em think! I found THAT out with my friend.... No wonder I don't trust orthodox medicine!
