Homemade art / fun kits

It's back to school time - what are you getting for your childs art / fun / learning kit?
How old are they?

I'll start - E is 18 months. I'm getting glue, markers colored pencils and a couple composition notebooks for her. They are all on sale at office max this week. Who knows what I'll get next week!

We already have plenty of craft supplies. I'm going to try to avoid buying anything. DD will be 4 next week. I would encourage you to get washable markers. They're indispensible.

School starting doesn't have anything to do with when we get our art supplies - its got more to do with when Mama spends too much time online at Discount School Supplies.

We have: tiny tubes of squeeze paint (she loves squeezing them and they're so small not much paint is wasted)

Paper crowns

Rainstick kits

Foam paint (the coolest paint, I swear)

About a billion big crayons

Three packs of colored construction paper

Those kid scissors that stay open and you squeeze to cut

Masks to paint

Body crayons (for turning into cats)

clay

fingerpaints

animal footprint stamps

Window paint (for driving mama crazy)

masking tape (allegedly for nature bracelets when put on the wrist sticky side up but more often used to turn the living room into a giant spiderweb)

watercolors

I have to sing the praises of a bottle of shaving cream and some finger paints. How I wish we would have done this earlier, ds is so entertained by it.
