Hello ladies? Mind if I join you?

I fall into the category of waiting to be ready. DH and I recently made the decision to TTC #3 this fall. I'm running my half-marathon in 2 weeks and we'll be officially TTC right after that. After all this time of contemplating #3 it's a little freaky saying we're actually going to do this but I'm really excited too. I think I'll be ovulating the week after my race so we'll see how quickly we get down to business!

Robin and Goin' Green, I'm about right there with you cycle wise. Had a little bit of EWCM and got excited, but no temps just yet...unless I had the pre-rise dip you talked about. It's confusing.

Monica, did you find vitex to affect your milk supply at all?

I took vitex off and on for a year to TTC DD2, and I started taking it again this May. It always affects my supply. That's the reason I kept stopping it last time, this time I took a low dose of fenugreek for a week after my supply had dropped down to nothing, I timed it right when AF started since fenugreek is a uterine stimulant and not to be used during pg. I didn't want to take it after I had O'ed. It's been two weeks since I stopped the fenugreek and my supply is quite strong again.

I gently nightweaned my DD in order to help get my first PPAF. She was about 18.5 months old and nursing about every 45-90 minutes all night long. I just couldn't do it anymore. About 3 weeks after nightweaning, I ovulated and 5 days after that I got my first PPAF.

We are still mostly nightweaned, pretty much not nursing from 9pm-3am or longer. I've heard at my LLL meetings that it sometimes takes 5-6 hours of not nursing at night for your body to get back in the swing of things again.

If I O'd yesterday and my cervix is already low and firm and no more EWCM, would BDing today do any good?

Thanks. Any suggestions on gently nightweaning? I'd like to try to encourage him to slow down on the night nursing in a few more mos.

Jillian - we also did some very gentle nightweaning, but not until he was around 22/23 mos. We had tried earlier than that - but in my opinion, the kiddos will let you know VERY quickly if they are ready or not. It was clear to me when ds was ready for it. We used the Jay Gordon method (not recommended for kids under 12mos). I guess also assuming you co-sleep.

Hi everyone! I've been lurking these past few weeks. I had my first baby, dd Violet, this past April 13, at home in the water. My pregnancy and labour were wonderful and my dh and I can't wait to give her a little sister or brother. Being only almost 4mths pp, I'm not sure when my cycles will return. We are exclusively breastfeeding and cosleeping.

I'm hoping to actively start trying in Dec, but if AF shows before then, we wont be trying to avoid. So you can put me in the Hoping To Catch The First Egg. I haven't been charting my temps, but I do check my cm and my cervix is closed up like Fort Knox right now. So, I'm not too hopeful that anything will be happening soon.

For those of you nudging af back into gear, what did you start with? Night weaning? Dropping 1 or 2 feeds/24hrs? Vitex? What is the most gentle way to begin? I really don't want to muck up my bf'ing relationship with my daughter.

Hi all,

Just wanted to add myself to the list, we are most definitely going to TTC this month, and we are trying to sway the odds for a girl. I have had serious baby fever for most of this year! I've only been watching my cycle closely for the past couple of months though, and am signed up on fertilitygal. I am pretty sure that my AF is going to start tomorrow, and if all goes as planned, then we should be able to conceive on the 16th-18th. We'll see how it goes.....

Thanks for the link. ds had been sleeping through the night, then went to waking again once a night - which I was ok with... but recently 2 or 3 times again. I suspected this had nothing to do with hunger, so I tried this last night and it went extremely well! I feel so good to have a huge chunk of continuous sleep again.
Also, this month af got taken hostage somewhere - maybe by the NightDrinker... if I get him back to sleeping maybe I can rescue her.

I think I will pump in advance and try the 24 hours without nursing after DS's molars come in. As much as I'd love to sleep better I just don't think he's ready for a nightwean and he's also underweight so I'd hate for him to lose more.

Hello! I would like to join. I'm in the 2ww right now, 1DPO. My babe is 8 months old now and I've had 3 AF's. My luteal phase is so short! Only 6-7 days! I'm taking vitex this month and really hope it improves things. I O'd 2 days sooner than last month (CD 17) so I hope that translates to longer luteal phase.

Welcome back! If I had any tricks for bringing back AF, I'd have gotten it before 27 months PP. Sorry! I hope you find something that works for your body soon!

Dunno. They say that the egg lives 24 hours so DTD today can't hurt but I've always suspected that the closed cervix and drier CM makes it harder for the sperm to get through. DTD anyway, though, I'd say.

We're back from the 3-day wedding extravaganza. It was awesome but I've got a raging head cold now so I really need a day or two to recover. I'm 6dpo and thinking of testing on Thu for DH's birthday. It'll be 9dpo but I know not to put too much stock into a test then.

I'm Waiting to O. I did actually O last month (yay!), but never got moved over to Waiting to Know. No big deal since my LP was a grand 5 days and DH and I completely missed the egg. :

I hope it will improve over the next few months although I'm toying with using Vitex to help it along. I had a short LP when I wasn't nursing and conceived DD my second month on Vitex and Vitamin B6.

Did anyone else take B6 for your LP? How much? I'm worried about DD getting too much through my breastmilk.

I'm taking B6. The first month I took 50mg and my LP was still 6 days. This month I'm taking 50mg B6 and 50mg B-vit complex. From what I've read the B vitamins are water soluble so what isn't used/needed you just pee out. That is why the B vitamins make your pee so bright yellow!
