I know I'm early, but does anyone else like the sound of the rain...I know it'll warm up after SeaFair, seems like that is when summer officially starts around here.

I like the rain when it happens during the summer occassionally but I get sick of it when its non stop throughout the year. It seems like so far we haven't had much of a summer yet! Or, it started late and now its waning again..

Elsa is sitting here eating grass in the front yard. Earlier today I caught her hacking on blueberry leaves as I was picking berries. Then she managed to steal a bite of an ice cream bar when I wasn't looking this afternoon at a party. Sorry girlie tummy!

We're going to a wedding tomorrow and bringing the littlest one along. I hope it goes well! The big one will be with a babysitter that he loves for about 7 hours, which sounds like a very long time. I'm just going to tell her to take him for a walk in the stroller for bedtime this time, because he's really resisting bedtime and I don't think most 15-year-olds have the patience or understanding for it. Hopefully all goes well for them. At least he loooooooves her!

Off to make dinner----we need to use up half a head of cabbage, and I found a wacky-looking recipe that I'm eager to try. It involves cabbage, apples, potatoes, and philo dough (among other things). Should be good!

We're going to a wedding tomorrow also. The kids are going to be baby-sat by both sets of grandparents and the wedding is one block away. They will be able to find us if they need to! We're leaving the baby for the 2nd time ever in 5 months. : How much milk do you leave for babies? I've got 2 ounces pumped, 3 ounces frozen. Since I'm only a block away, I'm not sure I'll pump more....but I probably should.

Dale's Mom is an artist and we asked her to bring a piece up to give to the happy couple, who are great admirers of her work, this is the first time we're ever paying her for her art...She sent us pictures and we picked this one a couple weeks ago. The pictures didn't do the piece justice and now I'm jealous and wish we were keeping it!!! We have so much of her art, but wow, this one is really nice. I hope they like it!

Ha! We're going to a wedding next Saturday. As of right now, we're taking dd with us, but I'm thinking of asking my sister to watch her. I think that would be more pleasant for everyone involved.

mamamilkers, I wish I could help, but I work on Sundays. I hope you can find someone.

If you're only one block away, I wouldn't bother pumping more. My kiddos never took more than a couple of ounces from a bottle without me at a time anyways, they always would rather wait for it to come straight from the tap!

Simplehome and anyone else -- are we still up for Tiger Mountain tomorrow? I'm game! I have one more day of my Birthing From Within workshop (which has been absolutely incredible) but I think that this hike will be great, even if I am a little tired. The physical activity will be very welcome after such intense mental and emotional work.

Here's the directions that simplehome was kind enough to share earlier.

Quote:
Take I-90 east and get off at exit 20, High Point Way. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp, then another immediate right. Keep going past the first (open) gate, and all of the way to the parking lot (you can't go any farther).

From West Seattle it should take about 30 minutes, although I'm not sure what traffic will be like. Hope you'll come!
Oh, and I just checked the weather and supposed tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and in the upper 70s. I am usually skeptical about the weather reports, but hopefully this will hold true.

Hope everyone had a lovely time at their weddings. I haven't been to a wedding in a while, but love them!

I'm still up for it! I'm glad you asked, though, because I had forgotten. : We had such a bad night, and our morning has not been any better. The fresh air will either be good for the big one, or he'll melt down and want to be carried the entire way. But we're coming!

9:30AM, Tiger Mountain Trailhead, today! I'll try to wait until 10AM to get moving, just to catch stragglers.

Great! We'll see you then. I've got a dark blue Subaru outback. And two kids. One 4YO blonde girl and a 21MO who I'll have in a backpack frame carrier. Looking forward to it!

Is anyone else coming or it is just simplehome and myself? I'd definitely wait for others but I'd like to hit the trail sooner than later if it is just us.

Yeah, me too! I got a note from Keeta saying they're coming, but I have her cell.

Anyone else?

That was great fun! Thank you guys. It was so nice to meet up and enjoy a little trek in the woods. We went and picked blackberries later near DH's work. What an awesome day!

We had such a great time, too! I would love to do it again sometime. It was great to meet you, Sara and Oesa!

I thought Silas would take a mega-nap when we were done, but it was a shorty one. So this afternoon he took a long trike ride to the store and he scootered around some, too. So he should really sleep well tonight.

Looks like people had fun hiking today! Sorry we missed it. We're still entertaining the in-laws. We had a fun time at the neighbor's wedding over the weekend, but I forgot to bring a tissue. It was nice to get away from the baby for a few hours (but I really missed him). He hardly drank any of the milk I pumped and my Mom defrosted the one bottle before she came over without asking me. She's obviously never breastfed or pumped milk for an event! It's my own fault, I left it in her freezer after the first time she watched him. From now on I will take my milk and keep track of it at my house if I ever manage to stockpile any!

So many weddings! I hope all had a great time.

mamamilkers-I hope you were able to find someone to cover for you and you enjoyed yourself.

I'm sorry I missed the call to hike. Hopefully we can catch up with y'all next time.

We are having some sleeping issues here, so our schedule is :

Other than that, Lolo is swimming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!: She just started a couple days ago swimming under water for 5-8 feet. She's so much more comfortable in the water than just a couple of weeks ago. All that pool time is paying off. It's been tough I tell you.

I enjoyed hiking yesterday, too! Reid told his dad at dinner, "We found some new friends today!"

My in-laws are coming in on Thursday, so I'm out for the rest of the week. They'll be gone most of next week, though, on a kayaking trip. Maybe we can hook up again sometime T-Th next week? I'm game for most anything, and need to make it into Seattle (U-District) to buy something for a spinning fibers swap I'm doing.

We're headed to the Crossroads Farmer's Market today, but in the car rather than on foot. I went running last night and my foot was SCREAMING. I really need to take it easy, but it's so hard to stop moving. Especially when I'm trying to lose baby weight. Sigh.

Ack. I forgot out babysitter needed tomorrow off instead of Thursday, so I'm out for the zoo on Thurs.

I think tomorrow DD and I are just going to take it easy. I miss her even though I'm really only WOH 6 hours, 4 days a week. It's the WAH part that gets me - I can hear her having fun with her dad, but I can't go and play too.

Maybe next week Sara - are you free Thurs, or did you mean Tues or Wed?

I guess I was thinking that net week the inlaws would still be out kayaking, but I do have our regular Thursday outing. Hrmph. I'd like to see you again sometime Amy, so maybe I'll skip that next week if you're free. I'm up for anything, and like I said, need to come into Seattle anyway. Zoo next Thursday (the 14th)?

Just a heads-up for anyone on the eastside-----I'll be at the Redmond LLL meeting next Tuesday, if you want to join me. This time of year I love to pack a lunch and find a park somewhere afterwards for a picnic. I might consider driving north to Woodinville this week to go to the Hanna Andersson outlet, but I'm not sure about that.
