We'd be up for something like this next week! Monday doesn't work, but any other day is good. Thursday, then maybe?

Thursday works for us. Maybe do the museum as soon as it opens and then go get lunch at the coffee shop? The museum opens at 10. It's not open on Mondays.

Oh, yes, I forgot about children's museums being closed on Mondays. Once we drove all the way to factoria to go to kidsquest and it was closed. I was sad! Don't want to repeat that experience.

Thursday would certainly be good for us if it works for others. And I think this is a fine plane in regards to doing the museum and then lunch. I'm sure we won't last too long at the museum anyway.

I could possibly go on Thursday, although I'm going to the fair sometime next week with my niece, we haven't figured out the day yet. I know that Tuesday at the Evergreen state fair you get in for $2 from 10-2. We checking out the animals and all the crafty stuff! Plus, you can't beat some greasy fair food for dinner.

Good to know!

The other option if we want more flexibility at the museum is to go get coffee beforehand (like meet 9ish).

We go to the fair every year too, but we always go on Labor Day when DH has the day off and it is half price. We love looking at the animals and eating fair food too! I can't wait to have an elephant ear!

This would definitely work for us as well. In fact it may work even better. But we can go along with what others decide as well. My littlest definitely starts getting tired around lunch time.

Mine, too. By about 11:30 or so he is already asking for night-nights. So early for coffee might be a better option for us.

Could someone tell me the exact name of the museum so I can look up google map directions? I'm coming from West Seattle and I'm new to the area, so if anyone has any tips on routes or commute times, please pass them along!

Here's the link. It's called Imagine Children's Museum. No special tricks to get there. I'm sure the directions will have you go north on 5.

There is street parking or a lot right nearby, if I remember correctly.

I have a membership at Seattle Children's Museum, so are they a reciprocal museum? I wold love to come next week ans join you all. That sounds like a fun place.

Wow, I should have checked back in sooner! Yay, plans! :

Next week is actually really open for us (no school for dd), so this is perfect. I was actually hoping to go to the fair one day next week too! I didn't know about the cheapo Tuesdays, so now I'll probably plan on going that day.
Anyway, Thurs in the AM should work just fine for the museum, although I make no promises about being on time if we're meeting at 9. We do mornings a lot better than we used to, but that's still on the early side for us. But I'll do my best!

Also, Happiestever, it appears they are a reciprocal museum, but I don't see Seattle on that list (at the link). Did they tell you that they are a part of that when you got your membership? Maybe I'm just not understanding that right..

Thanks for finding the link for me. I still would like to come and meet up. I was just curious if I could save a few pennies. Point Defiance Zoo is the same way with Woodland Park Zoo, so I am not surprised. Thanks again.

Yeah, I asked DP about the fair and he was less than thrilled about going. So we'll just go by ourselves, thank you very much!

Wanna meet up? I have to verify the day with my sis to make sure. Also, we are going to take the bus cause I think it costs like $7 to park. You could park at the Everett P&R and catch it. Or heck, even the Snohomish P &R just to save a few bucks. I think it's route 271.

As for the museum, we did go today, but maybe we could go next week too. I'm interested in figuring out the bus into Everett so maybe I"ll take that opportunity to do so.

When I went to Everett's Children's Museum, I found a coupon that came with my Seattle Children's Museum membership for half off admission. Its a one time use thing, but it saved me $7 so I was happy

Definitely! I would love to. And yeah, I was planning on taking the bus out there, I have noooo desire to drive/park at the fair. There's a bus that goes from here to Everett Station, then I can catch the 270 or 275 out there. We've actually done that a few times to go into Snohomish and it was a pretty easy ride. Anyhoo, let me know. If it needs to be on a different day, that's just fine too.

As for the bus to Everett, you could feasibly take 270/271 from your 'hood to Everett Station and just walk to the museum, but it'd probably be a lot easier/faster to hop on an Everett Transit bus once you're there that'll go over near the museum. There should be quite a few that go over there. I *think* the CT transfer works on the Everett buses too, but you might want to double check that before you take my word for it. I get all that confused between different transit systems.

LOL, Dan was the same way. I mentioned it to him several times, and he never showed a sliver of interest. Fine then. We'll just have to go while they're at work and have a good time without 'em, eh?

I was going to mention that, too, b/c I saw it on this page.

The Everett Museum sounds too early and too far away for us! The baby is generally making me want to take an early nap before going anywhere ( aqnd you really don't want me out there on the roads with the sleep deprivation!).

We did manage to go check out Scratch Patch today and met dh afterwards for lunch. Wow, they charge alot for a small bag of shiny rocks. I wish I'd have been the one to think of it as a business! Amazing what we all pay to entertain our children.

we're free next tuesday AND next thursday. i think we're going to try to brave taking the bus to the state fair. i hope it's a fun adventure.

I may try taking the boys to the fair Tuesday morning. I'll have to see if I can move my csa pickup day first. I think I'll have to drive, though, since going to catch a bus is further than just driving to the fair. Plus I have to have Will in issaquah at 3.

So, those of us going to the fair on Tuesday (the Evergreen State fair in Monroe) what time would you all be coming? I think I may show up a little later maybe 1pm or so, because I'm staying till dinner time to meet up with my mom and sister. Maybe we could have a designated meeting area at some certain times? I'd love to meet more MDC moms, I only know a couple!

Oh I wish we could go to the fair! It sounds like fun but I just don't know about hauling the babe that far-he's just not a good car sleeper yet. Have a blast!
