Daily Thread - Friday - 08/01!

So this is it! Our due month!

How are you feeling? Are you ready?

I'm feeling ready but I'm also content to wait another week or two.

Last night I lost just a little bit of my plug. Wednesday I asked my mw to check me and I was 3 on the outside, 2 on the inside dilated so I'm thinking I might have opened up a bit more over the day.
When I told dh that I lost a little bit of plug he jumped up and blew up the pool. I told him it wasn't necessary but he feels better with it done. Now I'll just have to keep the kids from playing with it.

My plan is to take a nice walk with my kids today for as long as I can.

I'm up at 2:30am, and posting here to pass the time....

...not sure if these are cramps, contractions, and not sure they are going away or not

You would think I could tell, particularly since this isn't my first time

I haven't woken up DH yet, because if it IS real labour, it is slow right now, and he is going to need his rest.

I think I'll call my MW in the morning and ask for a quick app't to see what is going on/where we are.

I'm both excited and nervous about adding another little person to our family. The reality, is, well, very 'real'....

I am due at the end of the month but am starting to get the near the end symptoms now which are hard to ignore. Everyone is commenting on how much baby has dropped and I feel like I have a bowling ball...down there and I had forgotten the lovely electric shocks in the cervix thing. I know I was late with both kids but I really feel like this one will come earlier. I dont remember the contractions this early either. I am up at 430 am as usual. The kids kicked me out of bed and I am worried about tomorrow. We are going to Calgary and maybe Drumheller/Banff with a friend and there is too much to do. Not just the packing but I seem to be nesting too. Dd1 has a bad cough, and dd2 has a sore throat....I took them to dr and he was concerned so he took a swab. I seem to be rambling too.....blame it on the late hour:yawning:

Hi you guys

I've still been having contractions that range from 6 to 10 minutes apart and are pretty intense, although I was able to sleep some last night. These contractions have been going since yesterday at 2 pm so I'm thinking this has got to be labor right?

This morning, I had bloody show. I was up and down all last night, having to pee and the contractions were really uncomfortable. I'm just glad I was able to get SOME sleep. Although, I just woke up (5 minutes ago) and haven't had a contraction start yet, although I feel them "threatening" in my back and abdomen, like they're there they just haven't woken up yet

What the heck does that all mean? This labor is eerily similar to my 13 year old dd's labor. I was in labor with her for about 16 hours and for about 12 of those hours it was inconsistent contractions.

After 17 hours of contractions yesterday and last night, with bloody show this morning, it's gotta be it, yes? 5th child and you'd think I'd know /sigh

well its Friday I was supposed to go into labour today..this morning around 2/3am I kept telling myself Well I woke up at 3:52 with one big cntx...
now nothing.

but the day is still young.
I got my licorice, organic RRL tea, EPO...
I am going to walk ..dh and I went for a walk last night alone
it was so nice!

I was getting some hardness contractions while walking but they went away...
sigh...

I am still dilated and effacing quite nicely..
watched business of being born last night with dh...
I found it dull and mainstream...

I had mild contractions from 5 am yesterday until 11 pm last night. They never got any stronger throughout the day but I was hoping something would pick up overnight. Nothing. I got some good sleep though. I am hoping something will happen today/tomorrow!! My dh and I both cleaned up the house last night "just in case", so yes I can say we're ready now!

okay so here I am at 8:29 am. I lost some of my mucous plug last night in the toilet while wiping. Since then I been having some contractions, I woke up this morning at 7:30 am to found myself contracting and haven't gone away. They are somewhat bearable, so I am going to make myself an egg sandwich and coffee because I am just STARVING! I was hoping to go to a birth center and watch Orgasmic Birth but I am afraid these cntx might pick up in strength. Going to take a shower, we'll see...

Wow, lots of activity around here today! ELVs to everyone who needs them!

Had some cramping and lots of pressure yesterday, but I really need to make it to my appt. on 8/6 to get my cerclage pulled. I do not want to start contracting against that stitch over the weekend and have to go to L&D to get it pulled. I'd rather get it pulled before labor in the doc's office, then go home and wait until active labor starts before heading to L&D.

Plus, I need to finish back-to-school shopping for my older kids today!

Yah! Here's hoping we have some 8/1 babies coming Its a good date I think

The contractions are definately back, though coming 10-12 minutes apart. I can make them come a little more often if I walk around but the birthing center I want to have the baby at is FULL! :cry If I can at least hold out until after 3 or 4 ish I can get in, since 2 are being discharged this afternoon.

I don't WANT to wait, I want to make it progress so I can be confident that this is REAL labor but the birthing center birth is very important to me and DH.

So, I hope it's today but not till after 4pm lol

Saw the doc yesterday and I'm still 3 cm, but the baby's head is right there. I feel like I've been suspended in time for weeks now - feeling crampy the whole time, contractions, the whole bit. I'm ready for things to move on already! I've decided to stop even paying attention to contractions unless I have bloody show or my water breaks. I'm so sick of timing them.

I'm 37 weeks today (but dates are a little iffy, so who knows).

Hardest part is keeping up with my 15 month old, who is SUPER active and getting a bit destructive and naughty. Trying to keep him occupied is my biggest challenge, because I'm so tired right now.

I finally have myself pretty much organized and supplies together now, but want to do some more major cleaning in the house yet. Dh and I will tackle that together this weekend.

No signs of pending labor, but I'm fine with that (at least for today!) LOL

is that a station the three or can they also measure dilation from the outside of the cervix?

but it sounds like there are quite a few babies out there who know that August is *their* month!

I'm looking forward to reading everyone's birth stories.

...and I have to say that the hardest thing is looking after our very active 2 year old...all I want to do is loaf...

Not yet 38 weeks here, and Aka_chan is still way up high. The SPD is getting worse though, much more and I'll need to start sleeping on the floor so I can get up.

I broke my computer chair today. Leaned back and snapped the screw that holds the back on. Fortunately, the seat stayed in place and I didn't fall or anything, but the snap was like a gunshot, it was that loud.

I was so startled myself, I didn't feel if Aka_chan jumped.

I have to whine today.

I'm just so stinking tired. I don't think I've gotten more than 3-4 hours of sleep at night in over two weeks. I have so much pressure so down low - neither of my other kids "dropped" at all before labor and this is just so stinking uncomfortable. I have little contractions and cramping off and on so although things may be beginning to happen, I think it will be at least another week and probably another two weeks.

I started crying at work this morning for no apparent reason. I hate when I cry at work.

I'm tired of all my maternity clothes, and I'm so grouchy. I've been snapping at my kids and my neighbor's kids who like to just walk in and make themselves at home.

<sigh>

I have my massage appt this afternoon and thank goodness for that. After that I'm renting a chick movie and making grilled cheese and not. doing. anything.

Its sort of conical, the bottom of the cervix opens before the top of it (the part closest to the uterus).

Me too Last night I couldn't fall asleep till 4am and then still woke up every hour. ds actually slept in till 8 am (he's usually up at 6). So a b ig 4 hours for me!




As for new news for me. More mucous plug this morning. Its not bloody but its coming out!

I can't seem to get her over to sweep my membranes...
she thinks I am kidding....

I keep joking to dh I crochet I have one of those hook thingy's...
I am getting some minor contractions but staying lying down as my MOTHER is about to arrive in next 3-33 minutes.....will resume the ball, walking, etc after she goes at 7pm...
