Sept 07 Mama's - Almost one year old! - Page 14

Kelly ~ I can relate. I always thought I would homeschool all my kids but doesn't work for Eavan and I to be together all the time. I am glad you are feeling better and that you like her teacher so much. It makes all the difference.

I am in such a funk. I should even be posting. I will be around tomorrow.

I've got a little bit of time tonight after getting Liam to bed. The only place to use wireless is in the hotel's lobby which is in another building so I have to come over here to do it. It has been rainy here today and the humidity is a big change from Arizona, I can already tell that my blood is starting to change because of the altitude change. Andrew has been getting on my nerves big time lately and hasn't been helpful at all, he gets so self-absorbed sometimes and acts really childish. He's upset that he has to keep the TV down while Liam sleeps because he's in the same room. Welcome to my life, pal!

I'm sorry a few of us seem to be in a funk lately, I hope we're able to get out of it. I already feel really out of place here and it is so different from any place or post we've ever been. The driving is really confusing because of how everything is set up and it's going to take some time to figure it all out. I'm already so glad that we're not living on post because it would be so drama filled and just like high school.

I've got some house searching to do online but I just wanted to check in with everybody. Many

I am in Atlanta &so ready to just be home...we get home on Wednesday & then leave on Saturday for Las Vegas for another week of work..ugh!! I too feel the funk.

Wendi-I am so not staying within my points...I have been yo-yoing for the last 6 weeks. So frustrating!!

Katie-glad you all made it safely-sorry Andrew doesn't understand the whole TV/child sleeping thing. My mom is the same way in the hotel room. She finally this trip is hitting the mute and reading the closed captions.

Miss Lucy is acting like such a big girl. I miss my baby. I am not ready for the big 1 year old.

Hugs to all!!

Katie ~ I hope you get settled quickly and find it to be a bit more suited for you. I think men react to stress differently and I find it usually involved them being a total jerk. for you! Hang in there.

SweetTexas ~ I stayed within my points and only lost .5 pounds. I pm'ed you.

Dahlia is starting to act like a big girl too. She is "talking" so much and doing signs and acting like such a toddler. She is going to be walking soonish and I can't believe it. <sniff, sniff> My baby is growing up! :

Hi ladies.

As soon as I get my house clean I will invite you all over for a giant come as you are, bring your favorite dessert, pizza topping and sleeping bag party. Nobody hold your breath on that clean house thing.

Heather, Friends...hmmmm I do okay with acquaintances but friends are much harder to come by. I wish dh was enough for me. I seem to realize hw important people are to me after one of us moves away. Locally, it is hard to find a true pal.

I'd bore you all with more details but my life is just in a phase of not too bad, life goes on, tomorrow is another day, it must be time to do dishes and laundry. No real updates or changes on the little guy.

Lactivist, I hope your funk clears
Katie, I hope you come to enjoy NC - mountains, beaches, awesome universities, a diversity of people
beemama, we too have been struggling with school. We are homeschooling this year but are never sure it is the right choice for our oldest daughter (or me)
Jessica, I hope you are surrounded by good health soon
SweetTexasGirl, enjoy home while you are there
Jeanine, shark teeth we call them that here also
Plaid, good to see you here I am impressed that you remember your password
leanbh, roro sounds adorable, I enjoy the updates on everyone's babies' progress

that's me, too, for the most part. although we finally got our piano out of storage : it's been there for 2.5 years. dh also brought a truckload of boxes from storage, so we've got boxes all over once again . it will be nice to get that unit cleaned out so we're not paying for it, but i don't know where all the crap's gonna go.

Hi ladies. I'm going for a haircut tomorrow, the first one I've had since Oct (I wasn't happy with it, so it soured me on the whole experience, hence the very long elapsed time). I have very curly hair and many stylist mess it up, so please keep your fingers crossed. I want to look pretty at my sister's wedding, not like a frizz-ball.

LWAB: Aili had a cold this weekend and was running a little fever. She wasn't acting like she felt particularly sick, but she would get very whiney from time to time; that's not like her. I think she is still feeling a little out of sorts, poor girl. In : news, last night, she took 3 (maybe 4ish) steps on her own!! I couldn't even speak. Also, over the past couple of days, she has started to try to say a new word. Every time I take her for a diaper change, I hand her a stuffed animal that my grandfather gave me when I was a baby to distract her. As I hand it to her, I say, "Koala!" This weekend, she tried to mimic me, but it sounded more like "kch-wah-wah." That's still pretty close.

Others of you have said the same thing, but it seems like she's developing so fast recently. She tries to read "Green Eggs and Ham" by herself now. It involves her turning the pages while shouting at the book (to be fair, that character in the book does do a lot of shouting . . . I would not, could not on a boat. I will not, will not with a goat). I know that I should embrace it and most of the time I do, but she's still my little baby.

Weird Dream: I dreamed that I was pregnant last night and as an actual part of my dream I thought, "Well, this will make Fridaxsky happy. She wanted someone to join her in the April DDC." MDC has invaded my dreams!

Thank you all for you funk free vibes! They worked. I am feeling much better today. I think hanging out with my two local girlfriends in the past two days helped a lot.

Sabo : Wow! Walking! It is just amazing each and every time one of you posts about your little one walking. What an exciting achievement. Dahlia is working much more on signs and talking right now. She does a few signs, nursing, sling, and she made up a sign for "I want". She is also try to repeat lots of things we say. She is clearly saying WAA for water and she said Dog while petting our pooch. It is fun watching her grow and change. It is just as exciting as with my first.

We found a house today! Andrew and I were able to compromise with price and I was still able to get the house I wanted with a giant backyard for Liam to play in and privacy. We traded price for distance and it's a 25 minute drive for him every morning but still not bad. We're moving in tomorrow morning and decided to rent some furniture until our stuff arrives and I'm able to order everything else. I think I will enjoy it here but it's going to take some getting used to, especially the roads.

Congrats, Sabo, on walking! How exciting!

Mommajb - I will be there!

I uploaded a few pictures, I realized I haven't posted any in forever.

Sleeping during the drive
Playing outside
Playing in the dirt
Muddy bum
Silly grin

Katie, the house looks great I hope you make a happy life there.

The public schools are back in session today. I feel a bit giddy like living in a college town when all the students left town in the spring. I can get back to my own little routines without neighbor kids around all the time. The rest of our fall routine has been in place and now this.

On a down note, I forgot to pick up my csa box yesterday and in the height of the season. I am still upset with myself. :

LWAB, Linus is really cruising. He likes to hold onto my legs as I walk around the house. It slows me down but I love those slobbery kisses on the back of my calves.
Katie ~ I am so glad you found a house and you feel good about it. It is darling. The pictures are just too cute. He is just the sweetest little guy.

mommajb ~ oh now that just sucks! I am so sorry. I almost forgot my box one day and was in tears.

Nothing new here. Sleep is slightly better if I would actually get to bed on time. Dahlia is starting to stand on her own for longer than a second. It is so cute to watch her get her balance and then either grab on quickly or sit down when she gets nervous.

I love my dh so much! He bought me a Wii!!!! I wanted one for 3 years and he actually hunted it down for me. I had so much fun bowling in my living room last night.

Oh man. I want a wii. Did you get wii fit? I know it is just a glorified exercise video but I thought just maybe dh and the kids would want wii sport and I could squeeze in the other. Dh is standing strong - we made a decision not to do a video game system a long time ago. Well, I could write a book but I am jealous.

Enjoy your new toy!!

Hey Mamas!

It doesn't seem like I've been "gone" for long, but I am so far behind. I can't believe there are birthdays already. They were born just yesterday! And walkers! Where did the year go?

Waylon cut his 3rd tooth. It has been forever coming through. The 4th is right behind. I have been able to see these teeth coming in for over 2 months and he has been Miserable. He is sooo fussy. I feel bad for him, but I am ready to shut myself in a room and put in some earplugs .

He still seems like he is a ways from walking. Dd was standing on her own at 11 months and he is SO unstable. Its funny because he rolled over at a much younger age than her but since then he's been slower, and she certainly wasn't an early crawler/walker. I think part of it is he wants to be on me all the time, and isn't really interested in the floor.

Wendi--great job on the weight loss. I had a slow week, but still lost a pound--I'm right at 185 now :. I spent last week with my ILs and my MIL is a runner but she eats like a horse and is an excellent cook, so it was hard to stay on course. I did run with her though (she runs 5-8 miles a day), for 2 of her miles. Keep up the good work, Mama!

Hieee mamas!

Just wanted to check in quickly. Chaya and I made it back from San Diego in one piece. We had an amazing time - Disneyland, the SD Zoo, Legoland, the beach, and lots and lots of playing.

LWAB: Chaya is pulling up and cruising on everything, including my legs (whomever posted about sloppy kisses on the calves, I concur!). She totally figured out the stairs today She finally started signing back. I THINK she has said Mama and Dada but I can't be sure it's with intention. She's babbling to beat the band, tho.

Oh yeah, I turned 30.

Things are ...eh..... between Dh and I. They are also ...eeeeh... financially, work related, and in terms of sharing domestic chores.

hey guys!

so, we have our little walker. ro's been practicing and practicing and falling on her bum a lot, but she is determined to make it across the living room in one go.

roro's getting smarter by the day! she can fit the circle and square pieces back into the puzzle, and she points to the cat, dog, duck, and frog in her brown bear (eric carle) book. she can find the mouse in every picture in her that's not my dragon book. she's like a flippin' genius to me.

otherwise, things are going ok. we're having some drama/family issues with my brother and his family. sometimes we feel really taken advantage of when they assume we can babysit frequently. we love our nieces, but occasionally, we just want some time to ourselves. dh works two jobs, and i work at night from home.

we're seriously talking about moving now, to the east coast, in february. we're not sure where on the east coast so if anyone wants to set us up with jobs and an apartment... you just let me know. nothing's written in stone yet though... so we could be in denver forever for all we know.

So, 2 nights ago, Cian decided to scream or thrash from 11:30-3:30: I felt bad because at one point I actually kind of tossed him onto DH and said "your turn" and got up. I ended up giving him some motrin because teething was the only thing I could figure was wrong. Then the next morning, I realized his diaper got twisted funny and the microfiber was next to his skin and really irritated it I felt awful. I had checked his diaper for poop and wetness, but didnt notice that. He has been sleeping pretty well since, although he is still teething. He is like a little monster coming at you mouth wide open, trying to get a bite!

Here are some recent pics

I'm not going in that room I'm not supposed to

Hey girlies!

I love my wii! I didn't get Wii fit yet! I am going to though asap. My boys are actually hanging out together for the first time in months so I am seeing benefits already. Zaid is also getting up and moving and he hasn't been lately. Anyhoo I am definitely enjoying it.

Dahlia actually stayed in bed last night from 7pm to 8:30 am. She woke about 100 times but she stayed in bed for 13 hours. Wow! Smartly I went to bed early and got some sleep. I am feeling better today after sleep and yoga last night. I also lost a couple more pounds so the exercise and WW is starting to help.

Greenmagick ~ Cian is just darling! What a face. : I love the chicken leg bottle. Too funny.

forestry ~ way to go on running. You are inspiring me.

falicia ~ glad you had such a good time in SD. I hope the other stuff works out soon.

leanbh ~ sounds like a genius to me. I hope your family drama works out. May the perfect east coast location fall in your lap. :

mommajb ~ I hate it when my dh stand strong on things that I want to let go of We have several game systems. We are just a gaming type of family. At least this one gets us up and moving.

My MIL drama is heating up again. We got the report that she does indeed have Alzheimer's and needs care. We are exploring our options and hoping to get her moved up here to some sort of facility. It isn't going to be easy because she doesn't think anything is much wrong with her and doesn't want to be cared for. Wish us luck with all of it. It stressed me out big time.

I am home for a pit stop before we head out for another week on the road. The first half of the week will be work, but then the 2nd half will be mini "vacation". My sister and her family are flying out to meet us and spend some time together. If I had my way I would just high-tail it home. I am so tired and so is Lucy. She is a teething monster right now and is not fun to be around.

Word of advice...teething and air travel do not mix child

Lucy is pretty much walking. She does the quick little walk between objects to get across the room and when she isn't paying attention will just hobble right across the room to get to me.

I wait a Wii Fit. I think it might end up being a Christmas present. I need something to motivate me to exercise.

Katie-the house looks wonderful. I hope you enjoy making it a home and that you find your new city to your liking.

Off to work....had to bring work home today...ick. At least the girl is sleeping.
Good morning ladies!

Sweettexas - I hope your mini vacation is restful

Wendi - I hope you find a solution that works for your family and your MIL

Greenmagick - Cian is adorable and I love the chicken leg
I had a bad screaming-in-the-middle-of-the-night night with Jamison on Tuesday night. Is that the same night? Maybe there was something in the air.

Katie - your house looks really nice. I'm jealous of the grass.

Jamison is a walking fool. A week and a half ago she was doing pretty well, but when she'd fall she'd crawl instead. Now, when she falls she gets back up and walks. And she's pretty much mastered the carpet/linoleum boundary. I need to find her other shoe so she can walk around outside

I've been keeping busy getting ready for homeschooling. Public school starts next week and I'm sooo glad I don't have to get ready for that. I think we'll start schooling after Jamison's birthday/party.

Also, my bro and SIL are expecting, which generally makes me want to stick my head in the sand, and hope for the best but expect the worst. But, SIL has said she likes my kids names, and wants help choosing a name, so I've been going thru baby name lists and emailing them the ones I like. It's kinda fun since I don't have to run it by dh before it can go on the list! Although bro has emailed me about his dislike of Aspen. "Aspen?!? Why not maple or oak or redwood..." So I suggested Oakley

Hope you all have a nice day :
