August in Albuquerque - Page 9

I got the recipe. The bartender was our babysitter this summer so we got 2 out of 3 drinks FREE. Which is good cause they were $9 each. It was a cool bar. Cigar bar on the first floor ( yuck) but the fun was on the roof. Of course we were the oldest ones there (shes older than me) but not by too much.

I have a slight headache, need to use better champagne when we make them.

I'll be free all this week, including evenings. Are we doing it at doularn's?

Blue, they called me to remind me of my appointment and mentioned it. I called back (they left a voice mail) and they told me. When she connected me to the docs assistant, she just said we'd re-schedule, no need to worry about it. Granted I'm annoyed because my symptoms have been a tad worse lately so I'll need to suffer for another week before I get any answers.

ASF, low fat diet helps gallbladder.

Got a Nautilus for S last night. She has one strap left! This kid is going to be forced into a bpb by 5! Also, ASF Babies R Us has a Regent in stock if you still need a seat. It's the same fabric as S's.

Woohooo!!! I have a/c in the van again! : And, it wasn't super expensive to fix. Yay!

I think I'm free most evenings and weekends for soap. I just need to have a little notice so I can make sure dh isn't busy.

Yay for working A/C! Ours is pretty much out again, even though it was "fixed" earlier this summer. Just like it has been "fixed" for the last 3 years. Seems they just can't find where the leak really is, so the temporary fix works for a few months

It is seriously raining over here!!! The garden is going to love it.

We had fun Rach.

Yeah for working AC.

So guess who didn't show up from 8-5 today. The call center was still open so the lady on the other end got a nice little talking to. Apparently our call was canceled because the parts are on back order. So why wasn't I called....... She then told me I could attempt to order the parts myself to speed things up, um no I'm not doing your job for you and if you cant get them how will I. Besides you've already messed up so many times the parts and labor are now free. Yes little old me actually told her I wasn't doing her job for her. I can't complain offically until 8 am on Monday (gee the complaints department doesn't work Saturday nights

I'm off to have a drink and some cookies while diaper shopping.

ugh - what jerks emans - i am glad you told em how it is.

rach - thanks for the party - i cannot believe E is 5!!!
Rach, we had fun too! Thanks for inviting us.

Glad the AC is working now, CO_mommy!

Emans, that really sucks! You'll have to tell you which company is giving you the run-around so I can make sure to avoid them in the future.

Eman's, what the heck?! I can't believe they didn't call you!

Thanks for coming everyone! The girls had fun and hopefully we'll all be asleep soon. lol I'm beat!

COMommy, hooray for AC. Sorry we missed you today.

Thanks for having us! We had fun, and C crashed hard right after we got home
post #171 of 291
Sorry we didn't make it yesterday Rach. Tell E "Happy Birthday" for us!

So I was all excited about our a/c. After we got home, transmission fluid poured out of the van all over our driveway. We had them change the fluid (and whatever else that involves) and I guess something wasn't sealed right. So now I can't drive the van at all. Can't get a hold of anyone at the mechanic until Monday. I hate car issues.

Comommy that is awful, hopefully they will get it fixed pronto.

So today D wants to wire the house with surround sound If it works it will be wonderful, if not I'll have wires running all over the place.

crazy: After talking about wraps a little yesterday, I thought I would share a few links with you. Thebabywearer.com is an awesome site, but totally overwhelming to look at. Some good brands to look for are:

Girasol, Didymos (Didy), Gypsy Mama (GM), Storchenweige (Storch), Hoppediz (Hopp), Ellaroo... just to name a few (some are more expensive than others, but you can find them used for reasonable prices on the FSOT forums at thebabywearer.com diaperswappers.com or even Ebay).

Here are some links that might help you in finding a woven wrap:

Wrapping ideas on the cheap:

What about sizing a wrap?:

If you decide you want to make your own, and want some help with choosing fabric, let me know and i'll be happy to help you out. Oh, and I would get about 5 yards or so of fabric. You can always cut it down if it is too long.

Thanks so much, Blue! I'll look at those brands and see what I find. The links look very informative, too! I appreciate it!

u/s this am - i have stones - bleh - dr should get the report by the end of the week. Going to start with the nettle tea and the olive oil - blech

do we have plans this week?

soap?

i think if doularn and elm can find a time that works for both of them then we can all probably work with it.
ASF, that stinks. But at least you know and can try to help it to avoid surgery as long as possible. Do the cleanse and stick to a low fat diet.
Bummer on the stones, asf - at least you know what it is and can do something about it now, though.

crazy - Not a problem! I really enjoy helping people wear their babies (if I didn't I wouldn't be leading the local BWing group, huh ), so i'm more than happy to help my friends out. Just feel free to ask

So we are getting ready for the home visit on Wed. IT was bumped up by a week (grr), but it will at least be over with. Got all my newborn/diapers out and organized, YAY! Trying to get the rest of the house to come together while DD drives everyone crazy. Is there a plan for Wed? I may bring her out in the AM befoire our appt so DH can stop trying to pull his hair out.

ASF, that bites.

Blue, good luck with the appt.

Soap: I can do any time until the 22nd except tonight. Then I'll be free again after the 29th. Doularn, do any of those nights work for you?
crap crap crap - so not only do i hae stones but my liver ad spleen are both like enflamed or enlarged. So we are hoping it was because of the wreck - that the seatbelt irritated and bruised those organs (which is likely) and not something sucky.

ASF- Is acupuncture and option? It might help open the meridians..
