My mom is so cute!

I have been trying to "educate" my parents and husband about homebirth. I went over to my parent's house last night and my mom gets all excited and says "guess what Carrin? I watched 2 hours of homebirth this week!". I said "what, did you hang out with a midwife or something?". She laughs and says "no, it was on TV". She was telling me about this big tub of water that woman gave birth in and that her 8 year old daughter caught the baby.

She says "bring it on....I'll catch your baby for you!". LOL

Heck, at least I have one family member on my side now!

Wow. I wish that I could have got my mom that excited about my births. My mom has a such a fear about birth she's not welcome to any more of my children's births. She can come over afterwords though.

It's great your mom is on board and supportive of you.

That's awesome. I haven't even told my family yet(jsut 12 weeks pg), but I can already tell they're gonna be fun to deal with. I mentioned I wsa usinga midwife & mom got all horrified looking & said so you're not having him(they all assume it's a boy lol) in the hospital!!?? I just said we hadn't decided yet. At that point I wasn't 100% sure we coudl swing it.

that's so great how your mom took initiative like that!

i'm really proud of my mom too. even though she was initially very upset about the idea of UC, EC, and a number of other choices, she ultimately did read what we gave her and her mind was completely changed! now she's completely, 100% supportive!

it is awesome when this happens!

That's great that you're mom is so supportive. Maybe she can be your support person when you're in labor?

Ummm.....no.....she is not a soothing type of person and would most likely drive me up a wall (that's why I'll be hiring Courtenay)! LOL But I love her anyway!

: My mom is a total chatter box and will never be with me when I'm in labor either.
