August... Finally!

I'm pretty sure I thought this month would never actually come
I can't believe it is finally August 1st 2008!

I was thinking this morning that one year ago, if you had told me I'd be having a baby in a year I would have died laughing! And that one year from now, we'll all have 1st birthdays to celebrate.

What were you doing last August? Any adventures? Were you TTC? Were your other kids begging for a brother or sister? ...Or kids not on your mind AT ALL? How different is life for you ladies now?

I swear, I can't remember WHAT I was doing last August!! We had been thinking about trying soon, and I think I went off the pill in September...

Last August we were donating all of our baby stuff because we were "done" having kids. I had just transitioned to a different role at work and was gearing up for my busiest travel year/work year so far in my life. My ds was getting ready to start at the Montessori school.

Man, a lot can happen in a year!

last august i was in cali visting family and friends having a great time and yep i was TTC but of course in noo hurry cause i was in cali having fun lol

One year ago I was healing from ACL reconstruction surgery and going through some grueling PT - in mourning that I couldn't rollerskate for 6 more months. Then, when the time came for me to be able to skate again, I found out I was pregnant - another 10 months or skate till I can skate! We weren't TTC, but DD sure was begging every day to be a big sister.

This time last year I was:
1. just returning from a Chicago-Minnesota work trip and had just missed the bridge collasping. Yea, my team and i were nearby when it happened.

2. On the 3rd the girls and I did a night out in which I discovered DP has slept with someone else while I was out of town and I broke things off with him.

3. the next weekend we threw my grandmother a surprise birthday party that turned out to be THE party event of the summer in her town. Apparently people talked about that party for months.

4. I wasn't TTC because I was too busy partying and having a good time in life.

Last year I was getting ready for the yearly three day cruise to Mexico with my "family" (my best friends family). Thirty one of us went and I had an amazing time, although I was tipsy of a majority of it. I had just started a new job as an RN and was still pretty broke so my "uncle" decided he would pay for everything. I wasn't even considering getting pregnant until I had been an RN for a year.

This year I'll miss the cruise but have my boy.

Last August I was busy getting married!

Our anniversary is the 25th and we'll probably have a baby by then. It's crazy.

Last August we were really stressing out about my daughter's eye condition. Out of the blue, her eye started shifting inward and she was diagnosed with Esotropia. We were doing many tests including MRI to make sure it wasn't a mass hiding behind her eye, on her brain. She later went through an eye muscle surgery and she got her beautiful eyes back... God is big

....last year this time we were living in Dhaka, Bangladesh and TTC.

This year, back in Canada, having a baby, dealing with a dying FIL, and facing cancer treatment myself.

...can't wait to see what next year brings!
