This is good to know! It makes me feel a lot better. We'll start socking away money a bit at a time now so that we'll be prepared in January to move. Hopefully there will be a good selection available then. I'm not really picky, but there are a couple of things that are important to me {like it will need to be near G & A's school... ugh, and a yard, but otherwise not picky}. We won't be ready to buy for another 2-3 years.

I think Bucky the Barred Rock is gonna give me an egg today. She's been in the hen house for around an hour, she keeps moving the bedding around her.

Yeah I got 4 from him they were 3.5 months old then. The other 4 the lady was not sure but thought they were 4 to 4.5 months old at the time. I can't remember how many weeks its been though.

let's see we picked ours up on 6/7 and was told they were 4 months (16 weeks) and it's been almost to the day 2 months. so 24 weeks. so yes you should be getting eggs soon!!!!

so when you go in to pet them, do they stamp their feet and squat down (like they would be letting a rooster mount them?) Bucky has been doing that for probably around a week, that's kind of been how I knew it was coming.

The other two girls just duck down out of the way and keep walking. so I know they are getting close but not soon.

So Mad had a rough night up and down a lot. was up at 5 when I took E to work, stayed up until about 9, then fell asleep. So C and I went to the library, just the two of us. And while there, I heard my name being called. It was Joe!

Anyways. in other news, I don't know if I'm going to "send" C to the school across the street. I've heard that they are over crowed and that most of the population is non-native English speaking. So I'm worried that C wouldn't get the most out of his schooling. Am I being unrealistic?
There is a couple of charter schools in the area, MLA and Arthur Academy in Reynolds SD and a new montessori charter school in Gresham/Barlow SD.
I know that he won't tolerate another year of homeschooling, he really wants to "go to school". I'm okay with him doing that, but I want him where he would succeed. I wish there was something closer like the homeschooling "school" out in beaverton, and what you guys have up there in the couv. hmmmm, C said that he would look at the other school before deciding if he really wants to go to our neighborhood school.

Oh and C pulled out his second tooth. Glad he did, cause he's been complaining that it's been hurting and he's been having trouble eating.

: for eggs

Are you near the VFS?

If it were me I'd look into area charters. Where' s trillium? I think I've heard good things about MLA. There might be magnet programs onsite at the local school (often if there's a high population of ELL's they'll have a dual immersion or other language program), or at another nearby school. What district are you in?

my joe?

Why does he want to go to school? Do you want him to go to school? I would explore that with him first then see if there are other options that would meet the need/desire he is hoping school will full fill and also your desires for him. Does he want more socialization? Does he want lessons? Is he enjoying how you are homeschooling now or does it need tweaked and changed to get him what he needs? Oh there are so many things to think about with schooling. I wish you guys could come up here to use HCA or something but I don't think you can. Pretty much 100% certain you can't but I have not checked into out of state students. Maybe you should just move to Vancouver.

Joe and I have talked about VFS some. We eventually maybe next year (or even next semester) want to completely get away from HCA and the other "schooly" programs.
yep it was your Joe.

As far as what he wants, I think it's more socialization. He doesn't like to sit down and do "school work" out of books, but he's okay with learning from computer games. Which I'm okay with. I don't know. I would do VFS, but it's a cost thing. Even with volunteering, there's no way of the extra $ to pay for it.
The montessori charter school is looking like a good idea, there's a informational night in a couple of days that C said he would go to and listen and check it out. It's a new charter, this will be their first year.
I often fantasize about opening my own charter school and if I did, it would probably look a lot like VFS.

Been catching up on blogs and saw a post by Shayla. She sounds completely overwhelmed, stressed, depressed, you name it. Poor thing. I offered to hang out with the kids for an hour so that she can get a break, but don't know if she'll accept. Poor mama, there must be something we can do for her!

I am not sure if I will have time to make anything for the picnic.

It is our anniversary today.

And we are catching up on stuff and have a busy week.
