Yeah, Terry Goodkind fans!:

I didn't run or exercise at all, yesterday! Unless you count wandering around a recreation pioneer village with three kids and my mom counts? Then we hung out and went to delicious chinese food, where I really ate too much, and am feeling a bit bloated and blechy this morning. Ah well.

I probably won't run today, but will do my Wii Fit, later today.

Welcome to all the new mamas!!!

Lisa - You are sounding in a pretty good place. I'm glad you finally have some answers. I really hope this is the next step to you feeling better, and being healthier. :

Gaye - I hope this guy realizes that he shouldn't try to squeeze water from a stone and he leaves you be.

I had a bad dream last night that the kids were kidnapped by a teenager and being held because she thought I was a bad mom (CPS vigilante fear, I guess). I just remember feeling rage and panic in the dream.

thank you Bec, that's exactly what I hope too!!

morning y'all. I woke up coughing AGAIN last night and am not sure whether or not to go back to the doc. This is the weirdest bug ever. no run this morning, I'm still trying to be cautious but I really want to do five with my neighbor tomorrow. sigh.

new mama who wants to do a marathon (so sorry, I have forgotten your username!)--welcome! your history sounds a bit like mine. I ran a marathon a few weeks pregnant with ds (not knowing it) and had a rough time, but finished. And personally, I kind of swore to myself that I wouldn't run another one until ds was weaned and I was NOT pregnant again. For me, I ran two half marathons while nursing, but not until ds was just over a year and then again when he was just over two. It just takes too much out of me. I mean, yes, you probably COULD do one especially with all those miles behind you, but there are other years, and maybe you could do the half to raise money/in honor of your friend? WAY easier on your body. That being said whatever you decide we will SO cheer you on, mama!

Speaking of, I have sadly neglected our little dingo book project this summer while the kids have been home. But I still want to get back to it.

moonshine, I have been meaning to say it is awesome to see you here again, mama! and I have sadly had several good friends divorce and ITA to just listen and not bash the ex, even if they do. call a lot, just check in, see if they want to get dinner or whatever. it's hard...I lost some good friends (the husbands) in divorces but you gotta be there for your friend, YK?

I have my final interview tonight! It's seeming more and more like it's going to happen but I'm NOT going to say it until I get my first paycheck. and then I can start the mad vacation planning (only sort of kidding, but don't tell dh )

RR: arm weights and abs done.

Yippy! I finally ran this morning-a little over 3 miles in miserable humidity, but it felt good. Then we walked to/from school for Open House. I'm pleased with the girls' teachers and it was nice seeing everyone after the summer break. I'm so proud of myself, I didn't sign up to be room mom for the first time since my kids have started school. It's a nice relief to not have that responsibility this year. I have to go out and do round 3 of school supply shopping this afternoon.

Poppy-are these public schools that are full?

Bec-I HATE those nightmare about our children. I had a horrible one last week.

Mamabeth-'m so exhausted for you!

Eksmom-You, runner, you!

Moonshine- to your friend

1jooj-Any word from your dh yet?

Mommabelle-I hope all of the paperwork gets done quickly and you get the job you want.

Jenlove-What a sweet bump! I can't wait to "watch" it grow.

Runningmommy- I'm thinking of you.

Mandy-I hope you continue to feel good.

I'm babysitting my niece, and we went for a walk this AM. She's down for a nap now, and I have the car packed for our playdate at the park later.

mamabeth - Good luck at your interview!

Welcome new running mamas to this board!! Sorry I'm a little late.

poppy I hope it all goes well for you. Glad you found a place!

tjsmama - Things sound like they are working themselves out on your end. Thank the heavens!

Could you be having some sort of allergic reaction to something? Or, when I have something lingering on like that I take homeopathic sulphur, usually 200c, and that seems to help do the final clear out.
: on locking down that job!

I was thinking that this year I'd volunteer to do that for the first time!

Mommabelle - Well, no official word on our test results but we're learning techniques for yellow belts so I think it's a sign

Yesterday dh and I found a well-built but homely chest of drawers for C so today we're going to paint it for her room for a surprise. But that will probably be my only exercise for the day

I love being the room mom, but I'm ready for a break this year. There is SO much involved with it and it's hard to have Jojo contained in a stroller or backpack for long period right now. I'm going to just volunteer when I'm able and be satisfied with that.

I hope you enjoy it and I know C will be thrilled to have you do it.

mamabeth I can't wait to hear how it goes! How exciting.

Another swimming question. I have not worn a suit without a skirt for 8 years. So I picked up a one piece nike tank at Marshalls. I am not sure about the size, it's pretty snug. What should I be looking for?

Thanks

Okay, you guys rock, but I stink at personals! I am reading everything though.

rr: three miles today, uninspired but they're done!

My DH is reading Pillars of the Earth. A friend of ours recommended it to me, and the more she talked about it, the more DH and I agreed that it was his kind of book. But maybe I'll give it a go when he's done (and I've finished the 4 books I am reading and the other 4 I just got out of the library....).

Plady, congrats on the possible yellow belt. When would they let you know? My DD just got her yellow belt in kempo karate yesterday - she came home with this huge smile on her face. She doesn't even have a gi (uniform)...but I guess we will get her one now!

Okay...back to eating salt and vinegar chips with the cat. (They are a great post-run snack, and he will not stop bothering me unless I share with him.)

Why is Pillars of the Earth suddenly so popular? : I read it 20 years ago. Loved it, but it seems like it's suddenly popular...

ARG! The realtor's office just called and wants to show our house at 5:30. We have an open house at E.'s school at 4 - AND i have to pick up O. fom nana's house sometime before that.

And then there is the dog.

In the privacy of your own home: try it on, bend over and if your rear is showing more than you care -- too small. Even though they stretch out, IMO if the first time you wear it you're getting a creeping suit it is too small.

Not sure. I can't imagine liking that kind of story.

hold the phone: you're house is on the market? How did I miss that?
bec- we don't have the wii but the wii fit is an actual workout? i've seen kids playing it but didn't really believe that it could be worthwhile. sounds great for when you can't leave the house!

i haven't read pillars of the earth but now you guys have me curious. i just may request it from the library. i've been reading the outlander series, just LOVE it!

well, it's almost 10 here, hot and humid. i'm feeling sluggish because i ate too much last night. have my running shorts on but need to pull out the jogger, get dd's snacks and things ready for our trip, ipod out and get my other kids involved in something before i go. my 13 yr old keeps an eye on the younger two while i take the 4 yr old with me.

ugh, days like today i'd rather stay home but i'm heading out!

yeah, it went on at the end of june. the market suuuuuuuuucks, but our house is definitely a starter house. we're thinking whoever buys it will probably be upgrading from a rental, rather than trying to unload their own home first, you know. as long as said upgrading family qualifies for a mortgage, it should be ok. we've had a lot of traffic, and a lot of posiitve comments but no offers. i'll expand more later.

bathroom cleaned, laundry put away, mirrors cleaned.
o. conveniently is out of the house for the day and e. is in charge of neatening. she's done her room, is working on o's, and is then moving to mine.

on to downstairs - i'm thinking i'm going to wait on the upstairs floors and do them all in one swoop. i really want a roomba and a scooba!
On a hunch I checked Oprah's Book Club list and Pillars of the Earth was on there. I bet that's why it's suddenly so popular.

Hoping you all can help a girl out - I'm having knee issues and it's killing me. I've been jogging now for a couple of months and am up to 3 1/2 miles every other day. I love it, it's like an addiction.

For the last week however my knees have been killing me - the right knee more than the left. I do the whole RICE thing when I return and my left knee usually recovers pretty well by the next day, my right knee continues to hurt though. It's on the inside area of my knee, right outside the knee cap. It doesn't hurt when I'm actually jogging, only after.

Is knee pain normal for beginning joggers? Is it something I can just work through? Can I keep jogging (please say yes)?
