Dude, I saw Michael Moore last night...

it was a great lecture (what else do you call it? it wasn't a performance). Anyway, there were 10,000 people in attendance in Portland, OR. A very big crowd. He'd a great motivational speaker. Talked about the dying dinosaurs, the 35% minority of white men in this country who own and control everything. 60% of the country is women or people of color. He pointed out that we're in a unique position to over throw those numbnuts and the polls show it. They're scared and unhappy, even though they own everything. But the problem is out leaders are weak and think they have to be pretend conservatives to get elected. He said now is the time to contact our 'leaders' and tell them that we want them to be better. We want them to be pro-choice and support the environment. Otherwise they're pretty good guys. Mike didn't like any of the candidates who supported the war . I'd seriously consider voting for anyone Mike More thinks is worthwhile, but at this point, we've got a year to pummle those guys into shape. Tell them, I'm trying to decide who I want to vote for, don't support any of them right now, and tell them what you're looking for in a candidate. This was Mike's advice.

I heard his lecture on NPR yesterday and it was motivational, I agree.

Plus, it was a relief from the mainstream media who have forgotten how to be journalists.

I agree in principal with Michael Moore, but I am going to play devil's advocate here. He is not above heavy editing in his filmmaking to make a more compelling statement.

I hear you, Calgal, but I am grateful that at least one person on my side of the political spectrum is using that heavy editing, to counter such "news" venues as FOX and CNN..... all is fair in love, war, politics, and Hollywood, eh?

He gets people's attention, and makes them think... Personally, I the guy. I saw him speak at my brother's college graduation years and years ago, and since then, have been a fan.

Oh my gosh, you are so right about countering the "news" put out by our government-controlled media outlets!!!

The news I digest is from Alternet.org and from our left-leaning PRI station. We also take the NYTImes.

I am amused to see, though, that no amount of whitewashing can counter the bad news from Iraq, about our country, and the truth is coming out. It's about time. Seeing Herr Rumsfeld on the defensive was a beautiful thing.
