I was really scared to do socks (oh my gosh it is so easy) and that yarn finally pushed me over the edge. Had to have it.

our LYS does free knitting classes every week for kids. these free classes are costing me a fortune!!

SO pretty!!! what pattern did you use? I'm dying to try a pair of socks but all of the patterns I have found are way beyond my ability still.

You should check out Silver's Sock Class
This is how I did my first socks and it is a great tutorial. She has step by step instructions and pictures of the whole process. I would try the "one sock on four double pointed needles" tutorial first. I just recently learned to make toe up socks using her tutorial.

Oh my goodness. Slvers sock class totally saved me. I am so glad you posted that though because I lost all my book marks and wanted to add that back.

I used the plymoth yarn Design studio pattern Adriafil Knit Col fingerless gloves and socks (1236). very easy and basic, 4 different sizes and it goes along with the above mentioned sock tutorial beautifully.

Great job! I love the colors and your knitting looks great!

I love sock knitting.....it is the perfect project to work on in the eves while watching TV with DH and it is compact enough that I can stick it in my purse for knitting while waiting for the school bus or the kids at swim team practice, soccer practice, band etc.

One piece of advice, I always cast on for the mate as soon as I cast off the first sock, otherwise I am tempted to move on to another project, but if I get it started (the trickiest part for me) than I will get the pair completed reasonably quickly. I have a few single socks floating around here waiting for me to make its mate.
