From one biracial child to another

My 5 1/2 year old daughter is biracial. We were with someone the other day that had adopted a little girl from Thailand, but just the (blonde) mom was with us and my daughter had never seen the father, nor did she know that the little girl was adopted. This is the conversation that I overheard:

My daughter (J): Are you biracial too?
Other little girl (R): Uh huh
J: That means we're two different colors. That's pretty cool.
R: Yup!

I just thought it was cute, especially since my daughter doesn't necessarily look biracial. She looks like she has a moderate tan. Her hair is pretty curly, but it is light brown and they are loose curls. Her brother is the same. If DH is out walking with them by himself he gets some odd looks at times.

so sweet! I love that she focuses on similarities rather than differences- what a cool little girl you have.
