So during my pregnancy I noticed my Dad (really my step-Dad but I call him my Dad) that my Dad seemed to know a good bit about the "medical" side of pregnancy. Not sure how else to put it but he knew what an NST was, ect.. I thought this was kind of odd considering he has never had a baby. But I thought maybe he had had a case that involved an OB (he is a civil defense attorney and does some medical mal-practice cases). I thought about asking him while I was pregnant but then thought better of it because if he had the case, it probably was a bad outcome.
So tonight I remembered and I asked him if he had ever had a case that dealt with L & D staff. I found out that his first 10 years of practicing law before he opened his own firm he worked almost exclusively on "bad baby" cases.
Poor Dad, no wonder he was stressed out when I went to 42 weeks. He never said anything but I could tell he was worried. Now I know why.
