Is anyone participating in a knitting Olympics? If so, where? I'm interested in doing something, but I don't know what. Ideas?

yarn harlot did something last time... basically everyone picked a project, and if you finished you got a gold medal... i'll see if I can find a link.

If you're on Ravelry, there's a Ravelympics there. Tons of events and teams to choose from, and lots and lots of other Ravelympians to keep you company.

ooh! I'm totally going to check that out. I've been on a knitting slump lately.

I guess the fact that it;s 104 degrees out doesn't make me want to break out the wool.

I'd forgotten all about Ravelry! I missed all the deadlines to be on a team, though. I should take a little break from deadlines anyway. I feel like I've rushed through the summer so far meeting other deadlines.

No, I don't think you missed the deadline for joining a team. That's tonight (August 7th) at 11:59 pm Pacific time, I believe. What you missed was the deadline for *starting* a new team.

But I can definitely understand wanting a break from working on deadline.

For what it's worth, I'm on a finish-lympics. My goal is to finish off all my UFOs by the end of the games so that I can get a couple of pairs of longies churned out fairly fast come September.

I'm signed up with Ravelry for the ravelympics. Trying to knit some gifts for the gift pentathalon. Didn't occur to me that the title could mean 5 items! LOL! So, I'm knitting a babywearer in bulky yarn, a baby sleep sacque, cap and booties. Who knows if I'll come up with a 5th item. All gifts for a momma and her new babe due in Sept.

I'm in the Ravelympics knitting my first ever sock(s). You needn't even be on a team to participate. Or even actually finish something. Just a fun way to "play along" with the games, so to speak.
