Yuck! Why is it doing this?

I just sat down to spin up some of my fleece now that its clean and all. The fleece is clean. My leader is clean. My hands are clean. Why, then, as I am spinning is it coming out GREY! I was going to spin and then dye but this is ugly. Very ugly. I cannot spin it like this because it is so ugly I won't finish! I'm going to dye it before hand now. Is it just because it's a naturally white fleece that hasn't been treated? I've had white/cream colored roving before and it spun up GORGEOUS without a hint of grey or brown or other "dirty/muddy" color.

Don't stress it. Wind it off to andean ply, ply whatever you've got (within reason- not less than 2 metres) and set the twist properly using very hot water and washing it. It can change colour completely when you're finished: just consider this a sample
