So, according to some organization I cannot seen to remember, the best ways to feed a baby are, in order:

1) mother's breastmilk from her breast
2) another woman's breastmilk from that woman's breast
3) mother's bm from a bottle
4) another woman's bm from a bottle
5) formula

or maybe 2 and 3 should be reversed . . . . .

Anyway, where is this from? WHO? UNICEF? I can't find it in writing anywhere, but need to so I can cite it.

TIA!!

What you're looking for is from the World Health Organization. I don't have a citation right this second but I will look later during naptime.

The list that Khourtniey provided is correct-- mother's own breastmilk, mother's pumped milk, donor milk, then artificial milk.

Here is the citation:
World Health Organization. Global strategy on infant and young child feeding. Available at: http://www.who.int/gb/ebwha/pdf_files/WHA55/ea5515.pdf.

Page 10 is the part you are looking for - bullet 18.

Thanks so much!! I was all over that site yesterday and couldn't find it . . . . then again my Curran has a cold and has been clinging to me 24/7, so I probably read right over it and didn't notice!
